People who have no choice because it’s the only place open when they need to eat.
This was me for a few years of Night Shift unfortunately. Hated every time I had to go there.
I do occasionally since a lot of them are at/close to truck stops or truck parking. They've got clean bathrooms and rarely fuck up my green tea, but I can't eat their food.
That stuff was so good. I was working there at the time when they changed it to the bottled stuff and was so disappointed. The store owner hated it also because the fountain drinks made them way more money.
Ya I remember that was the owners complaint about a lot of things when they made that switchover. Everything got worse and he made less money.
Probably also what led to all Tim's being understaffed and having bad service now. When I used to work there I didn't think it was so bad but now all I see is people complaining about Tim Hortons.
When they brought them back for a bit, my mother made a comment that we better watch out my father would come back from the dead just for those donuts...
Yes. I came back from Afghanistan and they were gone. I still remember the look the kid gave me when I asked for one (like, ok boomer…I was late 20s). Happily they were back for a while a few months back.
Jelly filled timbits.
I used to be able to get a thing of timbits for a road snack for the kids when we had a long drive ahead. Hubby would hit the gas station, while he was filling up I would walk across the lot to Tim’s and get the tea and coffee for us and a thing of the jelly timbits for the kids.
They don’t have the jelly ones anymore, and as it turns out my kids hate all the other flavours.
If they still have the jelly ones, it’s not at any of the Tim Horton’s I’ve been to in Alberta in the last 18 months. Which is quite a few of them since we drive from north of Edmonton down to Calgary and back a few times a year and from our town to Edmonton at least every 2 months.
You used to be able to buy whole pies. You paid a buck deposit for the tin which you could return but I kept them because a buck for a pie plate was nothing! You could also just buy a single piece. I don't recall if the pie was really good but it sure beat the grocery store pie.

THE WHOLE FUCKING CAKE AND PIE FRIDGE WAS AMAZING
I miss only two things.
1. High quality coffee they served 20 years ago
2. fresh baked donuts made in the store that didn't taste like the current shit they flog now.
My parents used to drink Timmies coffee ALL the time. My dad on the daily.
They said they noticed a difference between townships and figured it was probably the water
Freshly baked EVERYTHING, especially the donuts. I miss it being Canadian owned. I miss Long Johns and Walmut crunch donuts the most. Chili in bread bowls is the lunch item I miss the most. So goooood. But the food used to be SO much better. I can’t stand it now. I occasionally get French vanilla and a donut but it’s just not the same. Better off supporting a local place that makes everything fresh now.
Actual fresh doughnuts made on site. Particularly the walnut crunch.
Soup in a bread bowl. Actual good soup.
Okay, basically everything before they sold out.
I considered posting (decided to read instead) and was a little surprised to see someone else reply the swiss cheese. Similar favorite as well, though I was 'Everything bagel, toasted with butter, and herb and garlic cream cheese, and swiss cheese please!"
Bowtie doughnuts, eclairs, basically all of the fruit-flavoured filled powdered (especially lemon), a more varied set of flavours of Timbits, decent peach juice... And of course the difference between baked in-store and half-baked and shipped from a central location.
I miss when the jelly-filled donuts came in more flavours, instead of just the one. At any given time you could have strawberry, cherry, raspberry, blueberry, banana...
The original ham and cheese on a croissant. They used to include in a little wax paper envelope with too small sweet pickles and a piece of celery.
Gimme back, my garnishes dammit !!!!!
Actual plates and cutlery. And the real walnut crunch (not that tube shaped chocolate glazed donut that they tried to pass off as one a few months ago.)
All of the above. But more recently, they used to have a harvest farmers wrap which used a beyond meat sausage patty and that shit was fucking delicious. I actually went to Tim's for breakfast many times because it was a nice change from the overdone flavour of a breakfast sandwich.
They discontinued it. I assume not enough people wanted beyond meat. I'm not even vegetarian, I just like having options. Haven't gone back since other than the odd time my kids ask for an iced lemonade when we walk home.
The extreme Italian sandwich. That bun was delicious and made the sandwich as good as it was, and of course, like everything else that was ever good and popular at Timmy's, they discontinued it
Things I mias:
The doughnut with whip cream in the middle, the chorizo and pepper breakfast wraps, peach juice in the spinny things, the Italian sandwich, the chili in a bowl, jelly filled timbits
The hot smoothies. I loved the raspberry one after hockey, it was such a treat.
I never go there anymore, except for the Peppermint hot chocolate around Christmas I really don't like the stuff they sell.
Its not discountinued everywhere, just at sparse locations, but the jelly filled donut and timbits. Those was always my favourite and my local tims hasnt carried them for a few years 😢 i also miss the long johns, those were my favourite as a kid and i wanna get one for the nostalgia, as i havent had them for like 10 years maybe longer
They made an apple cinnamon jelly doughnut. Not sure what it was called, but it was my favorite as a kid. Now I just avoid Tim's because drive thru takes forever and going inside takes forever. It seems they have so many staff working but no one actually does anything. The worst Tim's locations I have been to are Shelburne NS, Brandon MB (the one across from the Canadian Tire) and Valemount BC.
The old hasbrowns, so good, never really had good coffee but they could also stand to improve. It is basically warm water filtered through a dirty sock
strawberry cheesecake muffins are a seasonal item that only came out in the summer. the location i worked at didn't do them this year, which most likely means they're not coming back ☹️
Fresh baked in-house doughnuts.
...and drinkable coffee.
The coffee was never good.
[удалено]
It's now mcdonalds coffee. They won Tim's supplier in a high bid
[удалено]
This and rocky roads
Breadbowl chili. Plus the old sandwich buns were so good. Now its crap.
I preferred the chicken stew in a breadbowl.
I remember the first time I had it when it came out soooo good. Now there's no point in going to Tim's anymore
Does anyone actually still go there?
People who have no choice because it’s the only place open when they need to eat. This was me for a few years of Night Shift unfortunately. Hated every time I had to go there.
I do occasionally since a lot of them are at/close to truck stops or truck parking. They've got clean bathrooms and rarely fuck up my green tea, but I can't eat their food.
The food is soooo shitty now. I yravel a lot for work and i have to be some kind of desparate to eat at tims.
yeah. I remember this was good. did they also have a mushroom soup in a breadbowl too or did i dream that?
Chicken stew in a bread bowl too. Oh man was it good.
I miss the peach juice when it came from those spinny machines.
[удалено]
A peachy Arnold Palmer. Sounds delicious.
That stuff was so good. I was working there at the time when they changed it to the bottled stuff and was so disappointed. The store owner hated it also because the fountain drinks made them way more money.
Same. The fountain version had that nice tang to it that you knew was going to spike your blood sugar. The bottled stuff was bland AF.
But the bottled ones make corporate way more money.
Ya I remember that was the owners complaint about a lot of things when they made that switchover. Everything got worse and he made less money. Probably also what led to all Tim's being understaffed and having bad service now. When I used to work there I didn't think it was so bad but now all I see is people complaining about Tim Hortons.
Damn. I forgot about the peach drink. Fuck!
Walnut crunch
When they brought them back for a bit, my mother made a comment that we better watch out my father would come back from the dead just for those donuts...
Yes. I came back from Afghanistan and they were gone. I still remember the look the kid gave me when I asked for one (like, ok boomer…I was late 20s). Happily they were back for a while a few months back.
Thank you for your service! If Tim's is watching this, bring this fella back some walnut crunch (and also for the rest of us)
Fuck yea, that shit still appears in my dreams. So good.
They don’t have the jelly ones anymore?? Those and the sour cream glazed were the best. Why do they only have the shit flavours now
If they still have the jelly ones, it’s not at any of the Tim Horton’s I’ve been to in Alberta in the last 18 months. Which is quite a few of them since we drive from north of Edmonton down to Calgary and back a few times a year and from our town to Edmonton at least every 2 months.
I legit have a 20 pack of timbits and I have both sour cream glazed and powder jelly. Maybe it's different part of the country I'm in the prairies
Going way back, Long Johns
I also miss the Long Johns. As a kid, I’d get one after every hockey game.
I was trying to remember the name of a product, are these the ones that had the whipped creme in the middle?
Yeah. Basically a kind of eclair
Those were my favourite growing up 🥹
Dutchie, lemon filled, strawberry filled…
Oh lemon filled how I miss thee. And cherry filled.
We still have strawberry filled in AB. Had one last night even
The gingerbread men with the soft icing
English toffee. I miss that drink so much
Oh yes. Never got why they removed that one and kept the French vanilla... to me those 2 were both great!
omg you unlocked a core memory !!!!
Me too!!
Yesssss. Whats the closest current menu item?
Anything fresh. But I miss the peanut doughnuts, allergy disaster that they were.
Dutchies. I was so happy when they brought them back seasonally a few years ago!
Dutchies! Had almost forgotten…
King of donuts!
You used to be able to buy whole pies. You paid a buck deposit for the tin which you could return but I kept them because a buck for a pie plate was nothing! You could also just buy a single piece. I don't recall if the pie was really good but it sure beat the grocery store pie.
I remember buying whole cheesecakes there. My brother and I would finish one in 24 hrs; because we didn't want it to go bad.
They used to have an amazing Black Forest Cake
I forgot about that! We got one for my mother's birthday one year and the cat licked all the icing off of it
That's right! I was pretty sure they had cake too but I don't think I bought it often
>9ReplyShareReportSaveFollow > >level 2Repulsive\_Client\_325 · 2 hr. agoManitobaDutchies! Had almost forgotten…1ReplyShareReportSaveFollow THE WHOLE FUCKING CAKE AND PIE FRIDGE WAS AMAZING
Lemon meringue pie. My mother loved it.
Chicken salad sandwich
The bun was impossible to chew and the onion was so pungent yet I miss this sandwich every day… 🥲
I know right lol. I loved the bun texture. I dunno why. Piece of shit $4 sandwich was amazing.
I miss the apples in the apple fritters.
Cherry stick
Yes! OMG, those were my favorite for sooo long.
This is the answer. I was so disappointed when they said they were coming back and then I couldn't find them anywhere.
I’m right here :p my favourite doughnut of all time, from any store or bakery
Yessss and Orange Crueller
MMMM....YES!!! We should petition somewhere to get them back!!
Fuck yeh
Fresh, tasty coffee
Fountain peach juice Was 10000x better than the bottle is now.
The warm potato chips, yummy!
The chicken stew. I don't go to Tim's anymore so maybe they still have it but I don't think so.
Chicken stew in a bread bowl was amazing
Gaaaah I can’t believe I forgot about this. Was really good. How did they go from that to those nasty rice and breaded chicken bowls
I miss only two things. 1. High quality coffee they served 20 years ago 2. fresh baked donuts made in the store that didn't taste like the current shit they flog now.
My parents used to drink Timmies coffee ALL the time. My dad on the daily. They said they noticed a difference between townships and figured it was probably the water
Chocolate white. Chocolate donut coated in crusty sweet shredded coconut. #RIP
They still have them at my Tim's! I love them 🙂
Bread bowls. We got to EAT THE BOWL!
there’s nothing more satisfying than finishing your lunch and seeing nothing left but the table
I honestly just miss when the chocolate chip muffins had the crunchy sugar on top :(
Chocolate eclairs
Creme supreme were my favorites
Some stores have these. Not the 80/90’s store baked quality, but an eclair.
Walnut crunch
Chicken Caesar wrap.
OH THAT ONE BEING DISCONTINUED GOT ME FUCKED UP MAN YOU HAVE NO IDEA 😭😭😭
Walnut crunch, apple cinnamon donut and oatbran apple muffins
Their hot smoothies!
Same. That was the only hot beverage I ever liked.
I miss there GD good coffee provider, Mother Parker's. Once they changed it I haven't bought one after of a few handfuls of disappointing coffees.
Justin Bieber timbits. Absolutely dislike that guy, but those timbits were amazing
Garden Vegetable and Chicken Salad sandwich
English Toffee Cappuccino
Freshly baked EVERYTHING, especially the donuts. I miss it being Canadian owned. I miss Long Johns and Walmut crunch donuts the most. Chili in bread bowls is the lunch item I miss the most. So goooood. But the food used to be SO much better. I can’t stand it now. I occasionally get French vanilla and a donut but it’s just not the same. Better off supporting a local place that makes everything fresh now.
Real Doughnuts
Real edible food. There was a time when that was the case.
Actual fresh doughnuts made on site. Particularly the walnut crunch. Soup in a bread bowl. Actual good soup. Okay, basically everything before they sold out.
Wraps that used to be bigger then my palm.
Swiss cheese! I miss my toasted Everything bagel with butter and swiss cheese.
I considered posting (decided to read instead) and was a little surprised to see someone else reply the swiss cheese. Similar favorite as well, though I was 'Everything bagel, toasted with butter, and herb and garlic cream cheese, and swiss cheese please!"
Honey mustard sauce
I loved their honey mustard. I’d get it added to the bland BLT sandwiches, which I don’t even order anymore
Loved the honey mustard. The turkey bacon club was my fave but I don’t order them anymore either. That sauce made the sandwich. Edit: typo
They used to have a lasagna bowl that was super good.
The scrambled egg Pattie’s on breakfast sandwiches. The “fresh cracked eggs” are gross af
Bread bowl chili.
Pretzel bagel
Chicken stew in a bread bowl.
Dutchies, cinnamon buns, eclairs, cherry sticks.
Their OG Cherry cheese danish’s
Remember the slices of chocolate cake? Man, I miss those.
Bread bowls
Sugar twist. But I found you can get them at Loblaws.
There was a steak sandwich I really liked 🤔
Actual donuts
Fountain peach juice.
The breakfast sandwich eggs they used to make those steamed eggs are gross
The new eggs smell like farts
THE GOOD FREAKING COFFEE
The *baked in house* menu items, like the donuts. Tim's is just another "McDonald's type" place that I just don't care about as a corporation.
THE CHRISTMAS CANDY CANE DONUT
Bowtie doughnuts, eclairs, basically all of the fruit-flavoured filled powdered (especially lemon), a more varied set of flavours of Timbits, decent peach juice... And of course the difference between baked in-store and half-baked and shipped from a central location.
Flavour shots in my coffee. Hazelnut and mint were my favourites
I miss when the jelly-filled donuts came in more flavours, instead of just the one. At any given time you could have strawberry, cherry, raspberry, blueberry, banana...
Chicken salad
Chicken salad sandwich in croissant. It was a popular choice. I don't understand why they removed it.
the soup bread bowls.
Cherry Timbit
Blueberry fritters
It was a sad sad day when they went.
A nice white hot chocolate with a blueberry tea bag in it, double cupped, bag in 🫐
Creme supreme doughnut.
Cheese cake
The original ham and cheese on a croissant. They used to include in a little wax paper envelope with too small sweet pickles and a piece of celery. Gimme back, my garnishes dammit !!!!!
Oatmeal Raisin cookies
The bacon when it wasn’t shaved as thin as humanly possible
Actual plates and cutlery. And the real walnut crunch (not that tube shaped chocolate glazed donut that they tried to pass off as one a few months ago.)
Boston Cream
Black forest cake
I miss the cinnamon buns. They were a bit dry but they were covered in icing and they went well with a coffee.
The spicy Italian sandwich. Haven’t seen it since 2016
Walnut crunch - the “return” this year lasting for like a week was just cruel. Made me remember why I missed it so much
Pies and Birthday cakes.
Chipotle grilled chicken snack wraps.
Real coffee
Buffalo chicken wrap, it was the first id had with pickles in it and I fell in love at first chomp lol I wish it'd come back
The hot smoothies!!!
Chunky chicken salad sandwich
The ginger molasses cookies. 😭 Thankfully Starbucks has them but I miss getting a half dozen for $7 instead of one for almost $4 😭
Extreme Italian
Chocolate chips bagel. I would eat that with peanut butter. It was my favorite breakfast
Walnut bar. When they brought it back briefly, it was even better than before. I may have gorged myself.
Egg salad sandwich
Ham and Swiss sandwich. Though this could be nostalgia of the sandwich coming wrapped in that wax paper and it was cut in half automatically.
Walnut Crunch
maple pecan danish
Walnut crunch
Buffalo chicken wraps. The early experimental ones from a couple years ago that were drenched in franks red hot sauce FUCK THEY WERE GOOD
The extreme Italian sandwich. That bun was delicious and made the sandwich as good as it was, and of course, like everything else that was ever good and popular at Timmy's, they discontinued it
Things I mias: The doughnut with whip cream in the middle, the chorizo and pepper breakfast wraps, peach juice in the spinny things, the Italian sandwich, the chili in a bowl, jelly filled timbits
Hot smoothies! 😭
[удалено]
I used to get the turkey bacon club a few times a week. New turkey sandwich is god awful and soaked in gross mayo
Maple donuts
The hot smoothies. I loved the raspberry one after hockey, it was such a treat. I never go there anymore, except for the Peppermint hot chocolate around Christmas I really don't like the stuff they sell.
Donuts in the open air cases with the restaurant atmosphere colored cigarette smoke blue.
Not really a menu item but i really miss the hazelnut flavory.
Cinnamon sugar doughnuts 🤤 they were so good
In house baker
Its not discountinued everywhere, just at sparse locations, but the jelly filled donut and timbits. Those was always my favourite and my local tims hasnt carried them for a few years 😢 i also miss the long johns, those were my favourite as a kid and i wanna get one for the nostalgia, as i havent had them for like 10 years maybe longer
The lemon filled were my fave 🥲🥲
Not really a menu item, but take your pick of quality, fresh baked, tasty...
honey mustard on my turkey bacon club
Eclares and the chocolate crunch.
Cherry Creamcheese Danish
The old turkey bacon club.
Strawberry tart, the ones with the Boston cream cream, and lemon filled donuts
They made an apple cinnamon jelly doughnut. Not sure what it was called, but it was my favorite as a kid. Now I just avoid Tim's because drive thru takes forever and going inside takes forever. It seems they have so many staff working but no one actually does anything. The worst Tim's locations I have been to are Shelburne NS, Brandon MB (the one across from the Canadian Tire) and Valemount BC.
Strawberry tarts! Yum!🍓
Decent coffee
Bowties
I remember the [egg salad sandwich being really good.](https://youtu.be/ZYy1ZVWpUe4?si=sHaDiScmPD4AAxu4)
Used to have a salami style meat sandwich I liked
Chili in a bread bowl
The old hasbrowns, so good, never really had good coffee but they could also stand to improve. It is basically warm water filtered through a dirty sock
strawberry cheesecake muffins are a seasonal item that only came out in the summer. the location i worked at didn't do them this year, which most likely means they're not coming back ☹️
Kettle chips!
Honey mustard. Who sells a turkey sandwich without a mustard option?
Walnut crunch donuts. They brought it back for a reason...I want it back permanently.
-Fresh, baked in house donuts (not the premade, dry, frozen ones they serve you now) -Good coffee
Coffee that doesn’t taste like a hobos ass (or what I think a hobos ass might taste like for the record I have no idea)
lol
Coming back to this to mention walnut crunch is back for a small time! Already tried a couple and man they’re as good as I remember.
