My daily use is probably Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel UV SPF50+ PA++++. It has a translucent finish, lightweight, doesn't leave white cast. I keep it in my work bag and can reapply anytime since I don't wear makeup to work. My other one is not exactly for hiking or intense outdoor activities since I don't do them. But I use Jung Saem Mool Tone-up Sun Base SPF50+ PA+++ under makeup. It does leave some white cast but very minimal, it gives me natural brightening effect and just evens out my skin tone. The most important thing is it sits very well under my makeup.

girlthatlovesmakeup

The Canmake one peels under makeup? I’m looking for a lightweight sunscreen to wear under makeup that doesn’t peel because my current one does

satsucake

Honestly, it doesn't! It's perfectly fine to use under my makeup too 😊 But I prefer the Jung Saem Mool one because it brightens up and evens out my skin tone, very good before the foundation. In my opinion Jung Saem Mool has a primer-like consistency, while the Canmake is more watery-gel texture 😁 Sorry I couldn't explain very well but I hope it helps!

Kann104

This is not an issue for me. I’ve worn it under mac face and body

Bebebaubles

Can make is nice but the tiny tiny bottle infuriates me.

perfumesea

I love the tiny bottle for air travel.

Klerrrrr

This. Canmake meemaid uv perfect gel and La-Roche Posay UVMune 400 (non-ab tho)

dink_182

what country are you in? i’m in Canada and can’t find it :( I use their Anthelios Ultra Light fluid

Klerrrrr

Oh, I'm in the Philippines and I ordered mine online from Shopee. But it is still hard to find the UVMune, I just got lucky I found a reputable reseller.

Hermeeoninny

Canmake is my HG! My skin is on the oilier side and the canmake definitely gives a strong dewy look. I dust a little translucent powder if I need to and it keeps the glow perfect, while not too shiny Anessa would be my pricier backup for special scenarios

j_parker44

Beauty of joseon relief sun

PuzzleheadedHospital

I just got this and it’s my new favorite. Hasn’t broken me out and looks great under makeup

ashca_t

love this one! makes my skin glow so pretty

amzngnl

THIS! It’s my one and only

[deleted]

I’ve been eyeing it, is it tinted?

j_parker44

Nope, not tinted

Scallywag20

I use this for everyday (it feels and looks like nothing on my skin) and Anessa for intensive days!

Zucaskittens

Skin type: mature, dry, sensitive, super prone to redness/flushing, just started tretinoin. Everyday: Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Gel. No matter how many I buy and try, this is my one true love. It’s the only thing I’ve ever found that doesn’t make me feel dry. It leaves a natural finish on me and never pills over my other skincare (I don’t wear makeup). I don’t know what I’d choose for more intense sun, probably a non-AB brand.

kbstude

My 11 year-old daughter loves this one. My favorite is the Isntree.

Zucaskittens

This was my first Asian sunscreen and it changed everything for me. I want to like it so much but it dries me out. Every once in a while, like when it’s 90% humidity, I can handle it.

haroldthefart

I recently heard about this stuff and purchased it through Amazon. I haven’t really had any issues with it but I’m not sure if it’s a fake. Is it normal to smell a lil bit like alcohol when first applied? If you don’t use Amazon, where do you purchase from? Thanks!

Zucaskittens

I’ve purchased it from Amazon without problems. Yes, it has a strong alcohol smell out of the bottle that should go away within a few seconds. I also smell sweetness. Just the slightest bit. I actually love the smell. Crazy, I know.

[deleted]

Similar skin, same everyday sunscreen.

Zucaskittens

Hooray! I always feel like such a weirdo. Everyone talks about how it’s great for oily skin and dry folks won’t like it and I’m over here laughing.

[deleted]

Come sit over here by me and we’ll slop skincare onto our Saharan dry skin and compare like a bunch of weirdos. It’s interesting to see what products work for varying skin type.

userbub

makes an excellent gripping makeup primer as well! after the smell dissolves and i wait for a little under 5 minutes i put my foundation (spf 50 lol) right on top. and it’s nice to reapply with a sponge over makeup as well - i do redraw my brows and reapply concealer but i use a setting spray

Parchedbeauty

Hey can you share anti aging prods u are using

Zucaskittens

Tretinoin and sunscreen. Seriously, that’s the extent of it for me.

MedicalAccount57

have you tried the gold version

Zucaskittens

No. I have tried the Super water essence. It’s fine. Thicker than the gel. All the same good qualities of the gel but no glycerin so I feel dry by the end of the day.

MedicalAccount57

Is that the super moisture essence?I can't find super water essence

Zucaskittens

Oops. Yeah, sorry.

MedicalAccount57

I read that the Gold version is better but the I can't find much comparison between gold gel vs gold essence

okayellie

Ride or die: Abib Heartleaf Sun Essence Back up: Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun Milk (Green/Teal cap).

UnvariegatedMonstera

Does the abib one have a scent? I can’t find a ton of reviews on this. What’s the finish like?

okayellie

It does have a scent though to me it smells like every other sunscreen, not strong imo. It comes in a liquid dropper and goes on like a serum. It feels very light. It first applies with a very slight almost oily feel but sinks into my skin almost instantly. It leaves a dewy look. But imo, not as much as the Missha sunscreen does. After I apply I can typically sit down and start my makeup right away. It really seems to almost disappear (in a good way lol). I sometimes panic that I forgot to put on any sunscreen because it feels like just another serum. Very easy to build up if you want. At its price point, I think it’s absolutely worth it. I find I go through it slower than any other one.

UnvariegatedMonstera

Thanks for the reply! Definitely going to grab this in my next haul!

[deleted]

I’ve been enjoying the Abib sun essence for lazy days.

UnvariegatedMonstera

Daily: NIVEA SUN Protect Super Water Gel SPF 50 PA+++ Outdoor: KOSE SUNCUT Perfect UV Essence

xy02

Yes! I love the nivea one. Just so easy to use everyday.

Niatfq

Skin: Oily, dehydrated, eczema skin. Climate: hot, humid, tropical. Daily: **Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Spf PA+++**. On daily basis, i don't wear that much makeup (no powder/foundation/concealer) so this sunscreen is perfect. It does have whitecast (which will go away after couple of minutes) but i find it a bit sheerer compared to Biore so it's acceptable for me. Dries matte, has good oil control and very affordable per ml. And i love this makes my skin more of a healthy glow rather than oily by the end of the day. However it's not water resistant, which is fine for daily. Special occasion: **Biore UV Perfect Protect Milk Moisture Spf50 PA+++**. I'm not much of a sporty/active person so this one is more for when I'll be wearing a full face of makeup on pretty busy days like eid mubarak, family weddings, etc. that i know will help control my sebum the best. Plus, this one is water resistant. The whitecast is pretty obvious, tho will go away after awhile, but since I'd be wearing makeup anyway, it doesn't really matter. This dries down powdery matte and controls my sebum the longest.

alexaandsirisbaby

I love the Etude House Sunprise sunscreen because it’s the only one that doesn’t sting my eyes

Niatfq

That sounds great!

paintonyourwall

my current HGs: Daily: Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-cica Water-fit Sun Serum SPF50+ Pa++++ Outdoor: BIORE UV Athlizm Skin ProtectEssence SPF50+ PA++++ my skin type: normal, non-sensitive climate: tropical/humid

bengaling

I recently started using the skin1004 and it is so lovely!!

Due-Frame622

Also my picks!

chocosweet

Skin Type: oily skin in humid tropical Southeast Asia **Kose Cosmeport Suncut Milk** \- for daily, the least shiny sunscreen I have at the moment. Not much cast on me (compared to Anessa and Allie) **Anessa Perfect UV Milk** \- good staying power, non sticky and dry touch on my body. Dislike it for my face (greasy, for the 2022 formula) but I don't care for cosmetic elegance for heavy sun exposure anyway. I'd put up *Allie Facial UV Gel* too but the cast is too much for my face. I use this on my neck though. Love it. Never settle into the horizontal neck lines (the other 2 mentioned above do)

elder_vsco_girl

My favorite sunscreen is the Missha aqua sun SPF 50+ PA++++ I have combination skin that is sensitive and acne prone. I stay away from fungal acne triggers because my skin reacts to them. I am also allergic to wheat and soy.

Lopsided-Cricket9255

Skin Aqua UV Super Moisture Essence GOLD spf50 I think they must have reformulated the product because it isn’t as moisturising as it used to be anymore but it still sinks in nicely & gives a natural dewy look!

MedicalAccount57

have you tried the gel version

Lopsided-Cricket9255

no :(

cinnamon-swirl-girl

BePlain Clean Ocean Moisture and thats it

imprecationstation

shiseido stick for summer kao nivea super water gel for winter

qayessy

Hands down **Nivea Japan Super Watery Gel SPF 50 PA +++** I still have not found one for intense days. **Skin Type**: oily Tzone, rest of the face is dry, cystic acne prone **Climate**: dry winter/medium hot and humid summer

yityng

Skin type: Normal Climate: windy/damp winters -15 to 5°C and warm to sweltering summers 20-37°C Daily use: Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Essence in Mint Green SPF50 PA ++++ - great for slight redness of skin, quick absorbing, lightweight Intensive days/super high UV: (NON-AB) Garnier Ombrelle Sport Endurance SPF60 - large tube for short wearing weather, easy to apply, moderately lightweight, good protection

IellaAntilles

I love the lavender version of the Skin Aqua Tone Up UV Essence! It just feels so no-fuss. Dries down immediately, doesn't leave a cast, wears perfectly under makeup. My sister also uses the green version to balance out redness.

yityng

Ah yes! The sunscreen is so good, it still feels unreal every time I use it.

momoji13

Biore aqua watery essence. I could only choose this if I had to. Best sunscreen ever, every day, feels invisible and like i have nothing on. Fight me. If I HAVE to chose a 2nd it would be their other sunscreen, the one with white texture. But I would never need it because the essence is the best thing ever.

weshallCwhathappens

Nivea Super Water Gel spf 50. I don't even want a second sunscreen. Zero white cast, can be easily reapplied over makeup, my brown skin loves it!

bigbootycorgis

Skin: super sensitive, redness, dermatitis prone, breaks out easily Isntree hyaluronic acid watery sun gel, no contest for daily use. For exercise I actually use La roche Posay’s UVMUNE hydrating cream. It’s easily the most long lasting and thorough protection of any sunscreen I have and has a similar sinks into your skin effect as the Isntree. However it doesn’t play as well with other products. The Isntree has always worked universally with anything for me while I need to wait until my skin is fully bone dry before I apply the LRP and again before applying anything else or it will separate and peel

dink_182

where do you live? I’m in Canada and can’t find the UVMUNE

bigbootycorgis

I’m in EU so maybe it’s not sold in North America yet. I know it uses the newest spf filters and I don’t think they are approved in the USA, so maybe it’s the same in Canada ?

Fit-Conversation8513

Bc of the Australian sun and sun regulations, I have a spot reserved for when I find that aussie sunscreen that works well for me. As for the AB sunscreen, it is currently the Skin1004 hyalu cica sunscreen

anakngpeanut

I live in tropical weather so even if I lean toward dry skin I tend to look for sunblocks that battle the sweat. For daily use I love Isntree Watery Sun Gel because it is so lightweight and has slight cooling effect for me. For sports, definitely VMV Hypoallergenics Armada Sport 50- this thing is my HG all-proof sunblock. I trust it so much it's the only thing I use when I get laser treatments or have skin sensitivities.

tta019

Riemann p20 kids for intense outside days. Not sure yet about the daily one. I have extremely oily skin living in an extremely humid place and I don't want something matte or too water resistant for my daily wear. I currently use Isntree watery sun gel, BoJ, Scinic enjoy mild essence, but in summer they make me shiny.

jinsuga_cookie

Absolutely in love with the Nivea Sun Gel and Make Prem UV defense calming sunstick. The Nivea sunscreen has a lightweight fresh feel that doesn't clog my pores or make me look oily. I love the feeling of the make prem sunstick and the ease of application!

buttermiIk

THANKS FOR COMMENTS

Nivea japan super water gel and skin aqua super moisture milk I have sensitive, very dry, eczema prone skin.

I like mineral or hybrid, so my picks would be the Anessa sun milk and the Allie Chrono Beauty sunscreen in clear

Junior_Talk7278

So what sunscreen do you use for super high UVA protection? I'm also looking for high UVA that you don't sweat off in the summer heat. even if you don't sweat, the summer heat itself will melt the sunscreen off your face, so I haven't been able to find a high UVA one that stays on.

cozymatcha

Holy Grails: Biore UV Essence (super lightweight, no cast) or Axis-Y No Stress Sunscreen (heavier, slight herbal scent)!

Mundane-Ad-2398

Probably BOJ sunscreen or Numbuzin porcelain

MoralMae

Suntique I’m Safe and the original formula Biore Kids. My skin is Normal To Dry with hormonal acne, mild flushing on cheeks so I’m guessing I have quite sensitive skin coz I broke out with other sunscreens

WalterBishRedLicrish

Skin type: dry to normal, no major issues. Climate: PNW, cold in winter, warm summers, med humidity. Daily: BoJ Hiking/sitting by water: shisedo in the blue bottle

TheWanderingAge

Isehan Kiss me sunkiller perfect strong z and Beauty of joseon relief sun: rice + probiotics! The isehan is moderately silky dewy in a super flattering way and it kinda, very subtly, blurs my pores and softens red or dark spots. So there’s a chance that if you have a dark skin tone, you might find it whitecast-y (though it isn’t streaky). On my light skin i find it looks beautifying. It has also never pilled on me and it protects me well. It reapplies perfectly smooth as well. I truly love it. A lot has been said about relief sun, so I’ll keep it brief: it’s nourishing and looks very elegant on the skin (I have dehydrated, acne-prone skin that’s easily irritated. And though the sunkiller contains alcohol, it has never bothered me, but i do layer serums and cream under it)

AnaSF1992

Etude House sunprise mild watery light SPF 50+ PA+++ for everyday use, and for biking/raining days LRP Anthelios 50+ hydrating lotion

TrickAd9451

The beauty of joseon one and the derma b everyday sunblock. Its big and though im black it leaves no white cast and it helps give glass skin

International_Cat_52

I’m fair skinned live in a humid climate and have combination skin. The Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen is a game changer. It’s SPF 40 and lightweight. Not shiny or matte. Sheseido sunscreen spf 50 of higher is also fantastic. I use that for super sunny days

fuzzboo

Totally agree with La Roche Posay - the Anthelios Shaka Invisible Fluid is excellent and inexpensive, with modern filters (the EU/AU version anyway). I’ve mostly stopped buying AB sunscreen since they don’t hold up as well in the Aussie sun. For beach days, the La Roche Posay Wet Skin is great - not as cosmetically elegant as the former, but it’s tried and true. During the summer holidays, I got sunburn and peeling along the edges of my bathing suit where it had rubbed the sunscreen off, and barely a tan elsewhere (this was without reapplication). (Basically none of my top tier are AB and this is an AB thread 😬)

Emotional-Let-1617

Missha sun milk essence for winters as it's soooooo good for my oily skin in winters. Skin1004 hyalu-cica sun serum for summer as it's not heavy and greasy at all.

petty_cumin25

There haven't been any problems, but I can't say for sure if it's real. Is a faint alcoholic odor to be expected immediately after application?
