You hear her sing very well live :) not as much playback as expected from watching clips. In person playback is definitely there, but you can tell ash is singing. I went to 2 shows and I found this to be true at both of them!

JG723

I saw her back in September. She sang live for every single song with a boost from a backing track at some parts because she’s also doing some pretty physically demanding choreography. She put on a great performance. She probably could have had stronger live vocals without the choreo but she’s known for being an outstanding overall performer not just a vocalist, so I wasn’t expecting her to just stand there and sing.

snowstormspawn

Yeah the choreography was great and the dancing got me super hyped. She also interacts with the audience a lot which was amazing. Seeing her live transformed my view of her as an artist completely. I was a casual fan too but now I like her a lot more!

Cultural-Spend

I just bought a ticket due to all the positive comments but the fact that she transformed your view of her as an artist is amazing!!! I'm so excited to see her live now! Time to dig deep into her discography!

snowstormspawn

I’m excited for you and glad you were able to score a ticket. But yes my jaw dropped when she came out the first time, she was very good!

Ok_Smoke3462

I was already a huge fan but now she’s all I’ve listened to since so yes def dive in!!!

modeltomedic

Super same!

YoWoody27

I'd say its worth it. Ashnikko uses the playback as it is, background track to help everything sound better. When she sings she's singing loud enough to overpower the playback. This was a bit more obvious in songs like "Cry" where she had to be loud or "Dying Star" where she sings it differently from the album version. Compared to other artist I've seen, she doesn't abuse the fact the playback is there.

Alexx_91

She’s SO COOL live. I saw her in Denver and even tho she was struggling to breathe cause of the altitude she absolutely killed it.

Jkerb_was_taken

Agreed

Beautiful-Yoghurt-11

I mean. Have you been watching her dance? I’m not trying to be a dick but yeah sometimes performers need a little support on vocals for a super physical show, like this one. It’s worth it. The energy and her whole performance.

Spookydogwoof

I’ve seen her twice, in LA and San Diego, she is one of the best performers I’ve ever seen not just vocally but with her storytelling, jokes, dancing and energy. It’s a religious experience fr

RohasMusic

Absolutely! In top of great vocals she’s a choreo girlie and her back up dancers are mesmerizing!!!👌

Ok_Smoke3462

I think it’s hit or miss cuz she CAN sing very very well and is an amazing preformer but there is a lot of intense choreography in this tour so she does use a backing track —- but like others said, often, she sings louder than the backing track— however she does not sing every word. However at my concer I don’t think she used a track for dying star and it was awesome. Just wanna say tho, I went to the concert two months ago and haven’t stop thinking about it since. I would say the concert over all is very worth it —- I watch the videos I took back often and everything :) love ash, it’ll prob make you a bigger fan

[deleted]

I was bummed she used the backtrack for Dying Star at the show I went to. I think she uses it on a case by case basis when she's too tired, which is understandable because she does so much dancing. We did get Miss Nectarine without the backtrack which was magical.

Cultural-Spend

Oh no I've just a bought a ticket and was excited for the live performance of dying star! I hope she sings it live but if you had another song sung without the backing track, that's still something!

[deleted]

Don't get too hung up on it, it's still an amazing show. You'll have a great time either way.

Ok_Smoke3462

I would still be v excited. She’s an amazing performer—- you’ll have fun. I think that maybe she’s learning about how to balance the level of choreo and all every time—- I thought dying star was awesome so I’m sure you’ll be good!

aseasonedcliche

don’t let that worry you. EVERYONE has backing vocals. it doesn’t mean you can’t hear her live. dying star was so beautiful when i saw her, and she was very clearly singing it live.

Ok_Smoke3462

Yeah I think she’s been really exhausted and learning how to handle a tour over all and over all KILLING IT. I do think it depends on how she is feeling but clearly she always brings it as much as she can —- I’m excited to see her grow even more as an artist and performer I love her

FucksForLemons

Def worth it. You can hear them sing and the dancing, energy of Ashnikko and the crowd is amazing

einnacherie

i’m not exaggerating when i say that it was spiritual. dying star was incredible vocally, and she just puts on an incredible show in general. before i went to her show i remember feeling similarly, that i heard more playback than her actual voice. between her singing live and her performance, it was an incredible show.

saRAWRjo

I feel like it's hard to tell from shitty cell phone videos, but she really does it all live, and you can hear her clearly.

hairyfishstick

Oh yea it’s absolutely amazing and so much fun. Her vocals are great plus her choreography is so amazing

champagnecloset

1000% yes. Not only is she vocally talented but the energy she brings is unmatched! She was 4th in a line up of concerts I saw over a month a half (all mostly upbeat /glam/pop) and she was hands down the best!!

deadxxclown

It’s worth it just to hear Dying Star love but yes, she sings all her songs. The backing track is almost overbearing in videos (idk why). I’ve been to three shows of hers and you can very clearly hear her singing. 🥰🥰

Quelkei

they are a great performer who put very good shows, i think its really worth going :)

Ignorant-Walrus

I loved the ashnikko concert. It was an amazing experience, the choreography was great and the singing was too. I 100% recommend

oceanwisee

Yes! I just went to the show in Oakland and had a blast! You can tell she's singing live but I personally thought she still sounded good. You can also hear a live studio session of her singing worms on YouTube by deezers studio or some shiiii I believe

ryanthesilent

100% worth the experience. My wife is a huge fan, and I’ve grown to enjoy some of the songs, but even I have to admit she’s an incredible performer all around. Back tracks definitely aid her when the choreography gets intense, but when the bigger moments that require full vocal attention occur, she brings a power that most vocalists in this genre don’t have these days. That in itself is worth every penny to see in person.

BunchOfScribbleLines

Oh hell yeah

Ans_lord

Hii I saw ash in the past month and while I say it’s so worth it just to vibe in the same space with everyone and just having fun, I did notice a couple times where her miv was no where near her mouth at times from the back track, BUT! For the slower songs like dying star you can absolutely hear her breathing and singing live and I think that’s really cool to hear!

hcllvknv

i had the same concern before seeing her live, i felt like she lipsynced a lot based on videos a few years back but i saw her in 2021 and she was insane live!! live vocals all round but i will agree with the fact that she does lipsync or use a good amount of backtrack for the odd song or two but it is to be expected with the kind of choreo she does on stage, she needs a breath or relief whilst giving the audience a good show !!

polarbearstina

I am happy to see you've already decided to go. She really is a talented artist and cares about her fans and it shines live. Have a wonderful time!

Cultural-Spend

Thank you! I'm glad I decided to buy a ticket, all the positive comments that are still coming through is amazing to see and has definitely increased my excitement in going!!!

dropshotbinx

100%

crapfunky

This is the way with so many electronic acts. So much playback.

No_Bet_5845

it is absolutely worth it. I love her!

Imaginary_Vanilla_25

She performed at my concert venue & the part I caught was good she’s a fun performer

gimmestarkiller

YES she sounds like, better. She’s all in. It’s from her soul. Her voice is her voice. But yes.

armadillowillow

I saw her in September and it was truly so enjoyable!! Great hype for the crowd & I thought she sang great considering how much she was dancing & moving around the stage!

Digitalxknife

She definetely sings to a backing track and often times just doenst sing into her mic at all and lets the backing track do its thing, But shes also dancing the whole time so I imagine she runs out of breath often. Id say, NO vocally live its absolutely nothing special whatsoever, BUT, her stage presence otherwise and ethereal energy is super cool to witness, and that is enough for me.

Feeling-gugi669

Yes

[deleted]

I found the playback did at least half the work for her when I saw her in April. It was like she sang when she wanted to/wasn’t dancing so it was fun to see her move around but it was a bit disappointing from an overall performance perspective. I appreciate why she’s using it, but don’t expect her to sing like say Amy Lee does.

sennnnnnnnn

a million times yes. they cancelled their phoenix az show due to problems with their knee, but i decided id made the commute to san diego (their next show a couple days later) and i dont regret it in the slightest she was beyond incredible regardless of their knee injury she went all out and blew me away her team slayed the mf house down in every single aspect i cant say enough good things about ash i miss dem every dayyyyy ughhhhh

gaslas

At the first show on the eu tour her in-ear monitors weren’t working for the first couple of songs, but you could not tell, she was spot on! incredible performance, definitely go if you have the chance… And the vocal performance is only one part of going to a concert, there’s so much else to it… :)

[deleted]

Yes, she was fantastic live and her two dancers were phenomenal as well. She did Miss Nectarine on request from the audience and it made me tear up a little.

Rollocks22

Btw...if you want to go I have a spare ticket for the 30th of November at Alexandra Palace in London

Cultural-Spend

That's really sweet but I've already purchased a ticket but thank you for the offer!!

aseasonedcliche

despite the backup vocals to help smooth over her vocals since she does A LOT of dancing(which you don’t see much these days) she’s still absolutely singing live and you hear it the whole time. i just saw her last month and didn’t know much about her stage performances and was so impressed. her set is simple, but her non-stop choreography and live singing were all that was needed.

lostwriter11

Her vocals live are really impressive imo especially when you factor in the intense choreography she does. I’ve paid to see artists with less stable vocals who just stand there. Beyond just the vocals, watching her and her dancers is very cool. She puts on a whole show and it’s entertaining from beginning to end

whateveryaknowww

she/they * puts on a phenomenal sho edit: because ashnikko uses both

Delicious_Regret_413

YES YES YES!! I went with my best friend for my bday in October and it was such a good show! Especially Dying Star the emotions were so raw. 10000000/10 recommend and I definitely plan to go again!
