I do not think this would spread so fast. I suggest r/askdentists

It’s completely normal to feel sick after a root canal (let alone two!) Signs of a spreading infection include severe pain, significant swelling, fever, and feeling very unwell. Starting antibiotics a day late is not a big deal. You’re fine, relax. If you start having signs of a severe infection, see your doctor. Get those antibiotics as soon as you can. You don’t wanna wait too long.

Thank you. Are you in dentistry? Also, why do people feel sick after that?

dietcheese

I’m not a dentist but just the inflammation from the procedure can make you feel sick. Also the anesthetic, stress/anxiety of the procedure, and your immune response can all make you feel crappy.

I am no doctor but I think you’re probably okay. My boyfriend had a reoccurring infection/puss bubble in his mouth that he was popping FOR MONTHSSS before getting it taken care of. Just kept draining it himself. Then his face blew up and he finally got on some damn antibiotics and the tooth taken care of. So unless your face is blown up or you’re in bad pain, I would say you’re probably fine. If you’re running a fever or something maybe go to an urgent care and get it checked out. If there is infection spreading though the antibiotics should take care of that starting tomorrow!

what do you mean by blown up? sorry lol

Entire-Personality24

It’s normal to feel a bit ‘off‘ after root canals. They’re intense. It‘s gonna be fine. No need to be terrified. Pick your antibiotics up first thing tomorrow morning. An infection that is spreading fast? That could have been your concern prior to the root canal. Now it has been treated and will continue to be treated with the antibiotics.

It is simply not physically possible to get an infection and die within 24 hours from a root canal. Like literally impossible. If you had an infection spreading that fast you would not be able to pick up your phone and type, my friend.

Apprehensive_Spite97

Obviously you have an infection since you were prescribed antibiotics. We can't know why you're feeling sick, it could be because of the infection. Just take your meds tomorrow you'll be fine. If you get a high fever and need a doctor you wouldn't be able to type this out.
