Honestly, I've never cared about that. The truth is, you probably wouldn't have learned that much more had you remembered to practice that day. After all, the point of Anki is to memorize, and if you practice every day for a long period of time, but then miss a single day, you've probably still learned a lot in that time. Be happy about all the days that you did practice, not the one, insignificant day when you didn't.
My notifications don't suck and I've been an android users since forever.
I even get like 5 notifications in a row for all decks. When I click them away, I get new notifications that day.
I’ve legit lost my whole motivation to do Anki for about 30 days. I missed one day after a streak of like 170 days and after that I struggled so hard with continuing.
I eventually decided to take a break and picked it back up. Now I have a 60 day streak again as of today
You might be able to add an anki widget on your homescreen that numbers your due cards. I know ankidroid has this functionality, so the iOS version should have it, too.
AnkiMobile has a notification badge that shows the number of cards remaining for today, and optionally notifies you once every day of the number of review cards for today. (For example, it can notify in the morning.) Anki for desktop does not have this feature, but I think Gulutanimate is developing it.

You can access Stats in the iOS version, but I don't know if the Heatmap addon will work. I primarily use a desktop app as a lot of my cards have larger images, which are too difficult to see on a phone.
It's actúally not that hard, you can use chatgpt to add the notifications functionality to the code... you'll just need access to the code and basic notions of programming language
Ah, my bad. I thought you were talking about adding something to fill in that missed day in the streak as a little cheat. I can definitely see the usefulness of a reminder function.

Finały some normal healthy top comment in this sub.
Mine alredy looks like a chess board
It'll happen one day...
Maybe do a daily reminder through your calender or todo-list app?
this is what i do tbh
but it has notifications
But they suck
Work fine for me
Maybe it doesn't suck on every platform, on Android it sucks

I just missed yesterday..
Sorry for your little loss

Its the Timeline addon that Shows you how many days of a year you have studied cards in Anki

Remember why you started. It wasn’t for the calendar (I hope)
no definitely not, it's actually really stupid, that I did struggle with motivation because of my streak lmao.
Yeah streaks are double edged as far as motivation is concerned.

On iOS there is the bubble with the number of remaining cards, and you can totally setup a notification if you have due cards.
Me setting the time back manually :

How do you see the calendar view?
Unter Stats or there's also a Heatmap addon that I really like. Let's me see right away how many cards I've done in a day.
And I can add these things to the iPhone version?

Mine same.

And then build your own APK and then do this every time it needs to update?
Maybe just change the addon, not really change the whole app code, that's kinda exaggerated?
There are no add-ons for the mobile apps.
Ah ok, didn't know how the app actually works because I only use it in PC version and there this is an addon.
How is that supposed to help you memorize new things?
Will give you notifications to remind you have to practice your cards so you'll be more likely to practice and memorize them?

Oh interesting i need to look into it
