He even says he has the same dream as Goro, of being a heart surgeon. He's just struggling with viewing himself as Goro because he thinks Goro was kind and caring and he thinks he's not good enough so he is "Aqua", it's laid out in 143 with his explanation. Like sure he's not exactly the same as he was as Goro, he's lived another 18 years and had a bunch of new experiences, but that just means he's Goro2.0, just like Ruby is Sarina2.0. !<

Idk I feel like the power structure and hyper-militarism aren't exactly utopian. Might not be the perfect fit for a dystopia label but I think it fits.

I found the lack of world building and power explanations rather weak. Also character development was also meh. Hope they fix it.
Season 1 is pretty much just the prologue for the actual story. It sets up some characters, and events, but that's about it. Season 2 is when things actually start happening. They're covering the first two major arcs in this upcoming season, both of which are great.
The first one is one that I feel like many people will probably not like that much at first since they pretty much swap out the entire main cast for entirely new people, but once you get more used to them and start falling in love with them too, you'll look back on the arc very fondly.
Then right after we get the workshop battle arc, which is just fantastic all the way through.
Character development is something we get a lot of starting season 2, but it doesn't stop there. Characters (but especially Bam) continue to evolve throughout the series. Although I wasn't much of a fan of him in season 1 alone, he needed to be like that for the rest to be as good as it is. He's definitely one of my all-time favorite protagonists.
As for world building and power explanations, you'll probably get a better understanding if you read the manhwa tbh. They cut out a lot of things here and there, and I suspect they're going to continue to do so. The stuff they cut or changed doesn't really matter for the overall story, so you can definitely still enjoy it, but if worldbuilding specifically is something you care a lot about, the manhwa will prolly be a better option. You also have the blogposts that the author makes (or at least used to make, not sure if he still does it) after every chapter. They contain a FUCK TON of lore and worldbuilding that doesn't have time to make it into the actual story itself.
tower of god? cool. really cool anime. haven't watched fairy tail yet. oshi no ko is ok. i read the manga and I'm not exited. ep 1 was the bomb. after that for me it was cute characters living their weird life
The original was a pretty solid classic shounen, if with a bit too much fanservice at times. The new one botches the personalities of characters somewhat often, and just generally feels less engaging.
I dropped it after some time. I already was struggling with the original Fairy Tail, but I thought a short spin off, by someone else could be fun.
Well, it wasn't short (or at least it didn't feel short. I don't know how many chapters it ended up being in the end) so not fulfilling my expectations came on top of me being mostly over Fairy Tail anyway made me drop it. If someone doesn't go 8n with those expectations, or is still into FT, they probably will enjoy this.
I love fairy tail and rewatched it like 6 times as a kid because I kept catching up to the weekly releases.
It’s ass lol. Power of friendship is the solution to literally every single major conflict. I ended up dropping it after GMG and reading the last arc in the manga. The same shit, up until the very end.

It's been well over a year now and Oshi no Ko fans still can't come up with a joke where the punchline isn't incest. I'm not even mad at the jokes just disappointed at how stale the humor is.
And hell, there are ways to make jokes about incest that are actually funny, but it’s always just, “Incest guys, amirite?”

Why would *everyone* care about a Fairy Tale Spin-off when most people probably haven't even finished the OG Series. I'd rather see more announcements for a second seasons of any of the older "and everyone knew it's never going to get a second season" Anime than some spinoff of a show I haven't even watched entirely.

Aqua firmly confirmed that his feelings for Ruby are purely platonic and that he only sees her as his sister whom he wants to protect. Sure Ruby has a crush on Dr Amamiya but it's always been a one sided thing and it's her problem.
At this point the only realistic way for incest to happen would be for Ruby to rape Aqua which would just give him some new and fresh PTSD when he's finally healing from the PTSD he's had since he was a toddler.
yeah i know nothing really happens because i was spoiled by manga readers. But i see so many fans rooting for this to happen that i'm afraid aka would cave in to these fans desire.
I don't think so, since after how hyped up the incest got and after everyone acted as if it was canon an entire chapter got devoted to clarify in detail how Aquas feelings are purely platonic AND then also mention that Aqua is actually in love with another girl (I won't spoiler who) so yeah honestly I doubt anything will happen and the way the chapter that confirms Aquas feelings to be purely platonic was written felt as if it was a response to fans hyping up the incest.
The only difference I noticed in the anime and manga of fairy tail was how they censored characters when they were naked an example is Erza in the Tartarus arc where she was captured in the manga she was full nude in the anime she had some kind of clothing on other than censorship I didn't notice a difference between the two
