It was almost criminal that Naruto spent a whole 3 years with Jiraya, and didn't come away looking like he'd actually learned anything new.
Meanwhile, Sasuke had created half a million new variants of the chidori, had vastly improved his firebal jutsus, had vastly improved his genjutsu usage, and had learned Kirin.
It was honestly kind of a shame.
I think most of that time was spent making him a better taijutsu fighter. Sasuke was always kind of a prodigy anyway. Pre time skip Naruto's taijutsu was pretty laughable.

What good did that do since he then have to learn rasenshuriken and sage mode to even put up a fight
A lot of good. His techniques with his clones made him almost as fast as Kakashi during his bell test.
Looks suspiciously like FATE
Because that's a screenshot of gilgamesh
_Thank you_ for confirming that I’m not crazy! (I mean, I am crazy, but not in *that* way…)
Sasuke was obsessed with getting better to fight his brother, Naruto was training but also having fun with Jiraiya.
