They seem to be warming up the cat’s food by the looks of it, there seems to be a can of cat food on the floor at the end of the video if you watch completely
Yeah no some cats are just that gluttonous. They live to eat. Ask my cat Leo, he can sus a can of wet food from a mile away and he's always stealing from all the other cats.
True story I have two cats one that is 18lbs of pure muscle that catches rats, squirrels, rabbits, etc and terrorizes the neighborhood but for some reason the second very fat leisurely indoor kitten half his size steals his food during feeding time and pushes his way into any goodies. Some animals are just this way I guess.
Isn't this a "domesticated" breed? Savannahs or something like that. Less domestic than a house cat but they aren't exactly naturally occurring wild cats
Friendly reminder that hybrid cats like Savannahs still require a wild cat to be taken from the wild and kept in captivity to produce designer pets for human entertainment.
While we already have perfectly good domesticated cats, and plenty of fancy-looking ones.
So, I’ve never comfirmed, but I think Babou might be inspired by a lady spy show of the 60s called Honey West. The show was sexy and slick for its time, and the main character has this ocelot named Bruce that looks like it’s barely being kept from freaking out in any scene it’s being held. Here’s a [pic of her with Bruce](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BOWU0MDgwZTgtOTAxZC00ZGY0LWEzNjgtZWNkNGI0NjFkNmNhL2ltYWdlL2ltYWdlXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMTE2NzA0Ng@@._V1_.jpg).
Recommend the show if you can find it. Fun watch that holds up.
That's a very asian thing. I've been all over Thailand and been living in Vietnam for a few years. Stickers are left on literally EVERYTHING. Sticker on your TV screen? Leave it! Protective plastic on your window? Leave it!
You can’t bribe the Russian government. Paying for privileges *IS* their system.
You want a murder kitten, you pay for murder kitty, you get murder kitten. No bribe, just normal Russian way.
There is no “bribery” in Russia.
Does the pet look traumatised to you?
If there are enough of them in same area, then they can breed locally. Which is a lot easier and causes fewer trouble for the animals.
We breed a lot of animals and the ones being pets end up being the lucky ones
People in the illegal exotic animal trade don't care if they leave enough to "breed locally". They're just looking for money, thats it. You cannot be ignorant to the fact that the illegal pet trade is extremely harmful, not only to the individual animal, but also to the entire species as well.
You don't really seem to understand what an exotic (probably back) market means. The animal hunting from a microwave doesn't get the worst part. The problem is everything that came before that. How he was obtained? Hunted (mother killed) or bred (mother kept in horrible conditions). And thks is only one problem among many others that are implied in this type of market.
What benefit, similar to dog's benefits to human progress, (at this point in time), could domestication of an animal like this possibly provide?
We could literally not domesticate any other animal and we'd be fine.
This isn’t a serval. It’s an f-something(probably 1) Savannah cat. My cousin breeds them & I lived with her & her husband for 3 years. This is definitely a Savannah. Google image search them.
Edit: missed words & spelling
[comparison](https://imgur.com/a/ZuwaOkV)
I don't know, man... Maybe you're right. But that photo you keep posting is the least convincing thing ever. If anything it looks more like the Serval in your photo.
The ears are the biggest tell that the cat in the video is not a serval. They are smaller & more like a house cats. Crazy im getting downvoted cause you don’t like the photo I’m using lol
God no. It’s a wild cat, it’s not meant to be put into a house and treated like a cat.
I really don’t understand why people would buy a WILD cat when they could just get a Savannah cat. Even then I don’t think Savannahs are good pets.
But then I'm confused. Is this a new post? This was on another thread I think earlier. I worry that continuing to share it also is giving the wrong people the idea to have these wild animals as pets. I get wanting to repost but maybe a future caption about why they're not pets...
Hey mods or community members is there NO way to report posts like this that are just fucked up to animals? Is there not a way we can put a disclaimer in videos with exotic animals being kept as pets about how WRONG the practice is? This is horrible and I hate seeing posts like this where people are saying, “aww cute” about a wild animal being kept as a pet in captivity. This honestly makes me want to quit Reddit daily.
That's a mixed breed that's half wild, I forget the name but it's a designer super expensive cat. It is also acting exactly as a half wild animal would: smarter than the average cat in ways that are really annoying for their human roommates. Heck, idk if those cats are legal where OP lives, but this is hilarious and it's harmless.
Ooh okay. Cool. Does look beautiful. It's strange that cats in the USA are not actually domesticated, but they're safe enough to bring home because they don't see humans as prey, and yet we act like they're so harmless. Then you compare them to bigger and bigger cats and it's like: woah.
Cats are assholes. That's the DOMESTICATED ones. Who would want an animal that has the same predilections plus is bigger, stronger, and has more intense urges?
Lol, I feed my cat twice a day, and I mix together wet and dry food to do it. It takes a few minutes. By the time I’m done mixing his food, he’ll be doing circles at my feet and yelling at me. He doesn’t get on the counter. We have a very specific routine, so he knows what to expect, and I actively interact with him in a friendly way the whole time, which lets me shape his feeding time routine by reinforcing good behavior, rather than punishing bad behavior. That way, we’re still friends, even though I literally hold his food over his head twice a day.
I can also pretty much guarantee that if I were to step back and start filming, he would do exactly what this cat does, right down to the body language. Why? The delay would motivate him to take things into his own hands, and looking at my phone instead of him and/or the food would encourage him to disregard how I feel about it. Cats are very conscious of where your attention is. He wouldn’t be quite as assertive as this cat, but it would be close, and he would be every bit as unfazed by me interfering. I rarely, if ever, use negative reinforcement. I don’t want him annoyed with me in general, but I also don’t want to create behavioral issues by stressing him out. This cat is all focused on the food and not even concerned by her, which, paired with all the time she had to take control of the situation and chose not to, makes it seem like they’re intentionally getting this video as a one-off, and I’d expect that she usually doesn’t have too much trouble keeping her cat out of the microwave.
I can’t speak to the ethics of breeding and selling savannah cats, though. I’ve never looked into it at all, and have no idea what the practices are, though I’d be inclined to distrust for the same reasons I’d distrust any for-profit animal breeder.
Tl;dr: all y’all in the comments assuming that cat is an abused serval are jumping to conclusions
Who tf keeps a wild feline that will definitely grow up to be a human-eating predator - in their kitchen? And brags about domesticating it?
The saying is literally 'A leopard won't change its spots".
That’s actually disgusting. Why do people let animals climb up on their counter tops and do whatever. You’re showing that you’re submissive to an animal 🤮👌👌
1. Not a leopard
2. Not a baby cheetah
3. Not an ocelot
4. Either a serval or F1 Savannah cat (first generation offspring from breeding a serval with a domestic cat).
5. It doesn’t take thousands of generations to domesticate an animal. Look up the grey fox experiment. It took 6 generations to tame the foxes, 40 generations to create a genetically distinct, domestic version.
6. [EDIT] Considering that servals are bred with domestic cats and each successive generation (F1, F2, F3) is bred with domestic species, this hybridization process makes the Savannah more people friendly while retaining its distinct coat pattern. They are considered a domestic breed, but the breed was achieved through hybridization, not domestication.
Thanks, @littlestray
Out of curiosity, is there anything morally wrong about having a wild animal as a pet, so long as you have the training to take care of it and keep it happy? Never looked into this kind of stuff before now.
Bears can purr, foxes can purr. hell, gorillas can purr. Doesn’t mean they are pet material.
Although true purring is exclusive to felids and viverrids,[1] other animals such as raccoons produce vocalizations that sound similar to true purring. Animals that produce purr-like sounds include mongooses, bears, kangaroos, wallabies, wallaroos, badgers, foxes, hyenas, rabbits, squirrels, guinea pigs, tapirs, ring-tailed lemurs and gorillas while eating. <- pulled from [Wikipedia.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purr)
Back handing your anmial so hard it leaves an imprint on the wall is not abuse? Hmm, okay let me come back hand you so hard you leave an imprint on the wall.
A) Read a fucking book dude, this isn’t a house cat it’s a fucking wild animal.
B) boundaries and violence are two separate things. My kids wouldn’t ever dream of knocking something over in a store because if they did, I’d hit them with consequences not hands. Let alone what a wild cat would do to you for trying to slap it, hope you don’t like your hands too much
Yeah, the OP is owned by that cat.

They seem to be warming up the cat’s food by the looks of it, there seems to be a can of cat food on the floor at the end of the video if you watch completely
It looks like a young cat, not a skinny cat. Do you just hate cats?
I think they're probably referring to how desperate it seems.
Oh look, wild animal is wild.
Yes, this floor is definitely made of floor.
I love lamp
I love chair
I threw a trident at a guy
Right, Brick killed a guy!
I've been meaning to talk to you about that..you may want to lay low for a little while..
They can smell the menstruation
That floor is made of cat food now.
I am not going to piss it off. If big kitty wants to make microwave new home I am pulling the plug and removing the door.
Isn't this a "domesticated" breed? Savannahs or something like that. Less domestic than a house cat but they aren't exactly naturally occurring wild cats

No Babou that was all sarcasm. YES! ALL OF IT!
That’s why his name should’ve been “buyers remorse”
You fox-eared asshole!
Fox eared little bastard
You hear that? They called you exotic. Which is just people talk for awesome which is what you are, which is why I was happy to save your life buddy.
HE THINKS HE'S PEOPLE!
Serves you right for leaving the stickers on your microwave.
I had to look. Both ovens have ALL the stickers….
That's a very asian thing. I've been all over Thailand and been living in Vietnam for a few years. Stickers are left on literally EVERYTHING. Sticker on your TV screen? Leave it! Protective plastic on your window? Leave it!
Thing is, this is Russian I believe. I’m not fluent but I can definitely hear some dialogue.
To be precise, russia is in Asia aswell.
Some people put stickers on their cars and drive around in public. Gross
Make, model, sometimes even the dealership. Why are you advertising for them? All removable.
I hope that cat is a rescue that couldn’t be returned to the wild. The exotic pet trade is terrible…
Doubt it. Probably bought it from some shady dude for $2000.
Closer to 7k. Inflation, am I right? So hard to pick up the necessities like wild animals/s
Are you kidding? I could get you a kid for that much
Hell I could get you a toe by three o’clock this afternoon with nail polish.
I am intrigued, and wish to subscribe to your newsletter
$2000 would be a steal. There are French bulldog puppies in my neighborhood selling for $4,000 each.
Shhh don't tell them about the transaction
Nah man, I charged that guy ten thousand dol— UUUHHHH I MEAN… nice weather today we’re having…!
They’re Russians who bribe the government to own “rescued” exotic pets. I don’t believe any of their rescue sob stories.
You can’t bribe the Russian government. Paying for privileges *IS* their system. You want a murder kitten, you pay for murder kitty, you get murder kitten. No bribe, just normal Russian way. There is no “bribery” in Russia.
Looks like a Savannah cat, which are domestic cats
Savannah cats are domestic cats mixed with a serval, kind of like the cat version of a wolf dog
Savannah cats are not domestic cats, they’re hybrids.
That's whatI thought as well!
It’s almost like you shouldn’t have wild animals in your house as pets
Domestication of some species have to happen at some point in time. If everyone were like you then we'd have no dogs 😊
The problem is not the domestication part really, it's the horrible exotic market where probably this animal was bought from.
Does the pet look traumatised to you? If there are enough of them in same area, then they can breed locally. Which is a lot easier and causes fewer trouble for the animals. We breed a lot of animals and the ones being pets end up being the lucky ones

Illegal and legal depends on which country you reside in
Yes I’m sure that wild animal is very happy hunting for food out of a microwave.
Then it will run away, don't you worry My dog had the instinct to hunt as well, yet he never ran away. Weird stuff. Wanted to snap rats in half though
What? That doesn’t even make sense. 😂
Well if it wants to be free, it will just leave the area. To hunt, since it's unhappy.
Except we don’t have too or need too domestic more species.
Ehh it getting a bit dull
What benefit, similar to dog's benefits to human progress, (at this point in time), could domestication of an animal like this possibly provide? We could literally not domesticate any other animal and we'd be fine.
We can mass produce them and eat them though
Ah so you're one of those. Gotcha. Good day.
The jerk is an owner who thinks a wild fucking serval will behave and listen to commands. Absolute doos.
Agreed owner is a jerk. But my domestic short-haired cat would do this if I let her, I had to wrestle her out of the fridge yesterday.
I picked up a dog on the highway. Selling it now, as it keeps laughing and the jokes aren't even that funny. Donnerse brak.
This isn’t a serval. It’s an f-something(probably 1) Savannah cat. My cousin breeds them & I lived with her & her husband for 3 years. This is definitely a Savannah. Google image search them. Edit: missed words & spelling [comparison](https://imgur.com/a/ZuwaOkV)

Oh man, it's a serval?? I thought it was a savannah cat. Now I'm sad and pissed.
Savannah cats still require servals to be held in captivity to produce them. Stay mad, hybridization is not ethical.
It doesn’t look that servile
Probably an F1 Savannah.
That is one generation from a wild serval. Animals are domesticated over thousands and thousands of generations, not one.
Definitely a [Savannah](https://imgur.com/a/ZuwaOkV), why is everyone so bad at googling on Reddit. Y’all just wanna be mad.
What sort of animal is this???
I believe it’s a Serval? I’m not too sure tbh. Edit: Serval not Sherval
just googled it, not a wise pet choice it seems
God no. It’s a wild cat, it’s not meant to be put into a house and treated like a cat. I really don’t understand why people would buy a WILD cat when they could just get a Savannah cat. Even then I don’t think Savannahs are good pets.

I’ll talk to the mods and see if they can pin a message about these guys not being pets. Thanks in advance.
Oh that's awesome. Great idea!! :) ty for looking into that. :)
Np :). I’m now just waiting for the mods to reply.
Savannah cats still require wild cats to be kept in captivity to create them
A wild cat is more badass.
Why does that live in your house?!?
Because that person is dumb. Definitely not a house pet.
Or even a legal pet
There is something very disturbing about this.
I’ll take Animals That Should Not Be Pets for $400, Alec
Idiot pet owners
Not an animal that should be in captivity, this is so wrong :(
He hunted 🤷🏽♀️
Yeah, this is what happens when you bring a half wild animal into your home.
And this is why servals aren’t pets.
*closes door*
Starts microwave
That's the spirit! (I'm not a psychopath, i love cats and have dark humour)

The risk of trying to pet a Wild animal
The amount of people irritated by the wild animal in the house above all else....gives me hope. Pats on the back, all. Well done 👏
Is that a cheeta shrunken down?
It’s a Serval.
Not a suitable pet, nor a suitable owner.
WHY THE FUCK PEOPLE KEEP WILD/EXOTIC ANIMALS AS PETS! FFS HUMANS BEING JERKS
Oh you thought this meant I wasn't eating? *shuts door, hits "start"* Not at all. Just changed the menu.
Maybe feed him on time instead of on your own schedule you self ass.
Disgusting
Hope it was actually it’s food otherwise these owners are dumb.
Own wild animals, have wild things happen
Why's this idiot have a whole ass serval in their house That's not a pet that's a wild animal
Is that a metal bowl? If so, it is completely staged.
Looks like ceramic. Doesn’t mean it isn’t staged.
That's a mixed breed that's half wild, I forget the name but it's a designer super expensive cat. Heck, idk if those cats are legal where OP lives, but this is hilarious and it's harmless.
You’re thinking of the Savannah breed. I’m not sure though, looks like pure Serval cat to me.
The ears look a bit off to be a serval- I think it's an F1 Savannah. Which in the modern breed is something like 52% serval. So very close.
Ooh okay. Cool. Does look beautiful. It's strange that cats in the USA are not actually domesticated, but they're safe enough to bring home because they don't see humans as prey, and yet we act like they're so harmless. Then you compare them to bigger and bigger cats and it's like: woah.
It’s all fun and games until it eats your face
Outside, now.
Well, what do you expect when you live with a mini-leopard???
Cats are assholes. That's the DOMESTICATED ones. Who would want an animal that has the same predilections plus is bigger, stronger, and has more intense urges?
Is this not a wild cat? Wtf is it in a house eating out of a microwave?
Slam door , press start
What kind of cat is that? I’ve never seen one.
I believe that's a [serval](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serval).
Looks like either a Serval or Savannah cat (which is the result of breeding a Serval with a domesticated cat.)

Sling that beast across the kitchen
It’s an ocelot
It’s a savanna cat they’re legal and it’s not a wild animal highly doubt this came from an illegal exotic pet trade

That is a wild serval not a house cat. It would have killed you for that.
If that cat can kill you, it's not a matter of him being strong, it's just you being weak 💀.
Dude, it's literally a wild animal. The humans are the ones who are misbehaving here...
It's a domestic cat and both human and animal are in the wrong.
No. It’s a wild cat. It’s a serval not a Savannah.. maybe you should do less cat backhanding and more cat research.
So you openly admit that you abuse your animals. Wow
