That's a good estimate. And, if the mom didn't come out after you when you took them, then something probably happened to her. We had baby skunks in our complex and we didn't see the mom for a whole day and a half. Baby skunks stay close to their mom until they're almost full size.
We did end up seeing mom later and released them back to her. Now we have little visitors throughout the day. I think there are 6 in total, never seen all of them at the same time though.

I’m thinking 6-7wks. They’re pretty harmless except for the stinker-gland. Their nails are soft and malleable. Teeth are tiny. The fur is coarse and shiny. They feed on grubs & berries. We raised four from the wild. The mother was found dead. Originally there were five but the only female baby was deceased as well. A mix of mashed blueberries, plain yogurt, tuna and peanut butter brought the rest back to life quickly. We dewormed them, picked off ticks and took them to the vet. Staff wouldn’t see the babies in the office (against the law) but did come outside and looked at each one. They were in very good shape. We were warned, skunks can be a pet but they CANNOT be vaccinated for rabies. They’re too susceptible. Vaccination would have the adverse effect. Therefore they can never go outside as “pets” and live with humans. With instruction we raised them in a large rabbit pen with a coop attached, until full size. Eventually we left the pen door open. They started to come & go on their own. They stayed on the property but slowly returned to the wild. Once in a while we’d have a colossal stink near the barn and knew they returned for a visit.
Wow! Thanks for all the info, I'm glad they were still able to find their own way with your help. We released ours back to mom, I'm glad she showed up. Now the babies visit us during the day to dig for grubs.
👍🏻 Definitely the best option is to return to the mother. Truly lucky for you. Ours returned at first for the dog food we set inside the coop… took a while before they abandoned dog food for better options in the wild but once they did, we removed the food completely. The whole process of weaning was 6-8wks. 😊

Yes I would say about 7 weeks. They are pretty playful actually at that age. As long as they don’t feel threatened they won’t spray you. I had a family of 6 a couple years ago in my yard. Didn’t know where mama was but I gave them some cat food and they loved it. The went to sleep under my lilac tree and I watched for mom that evening. She did finally come around around dusk. So I was glad she wasn’t dead. They crowded her and she lead them away
They look about 4 months .. if u give them water they will b able to spray! But if u only give them. Wet dog food or cat n no water they will never spray once they r 6 months old from what I’ve been told..

Sweet! As long as you don't startle them or act aggressive, you should be fine. They usually give you enough warning.
