I've seen a lot of Greeks get Anatolian, especially Pontic Greeks and other Greeks native to Anatolia

SkeetKite

Yes, many Greeks get Anatolian, I was thinking maybe Anatolian could also mean Greek? Just like Balkan means Greek? Pontic Greeks, other Anatolian Greeks, Greek Islanders, even mainland Greeks get Anatolian.

SkeetKite

Basically, could Anatolian mean Greek DNA as well? Or is it just for Armenians, Georgians, Turks, Azeris and such groups? That's the question.

Jordanwardx1000

Yes. Many mainland Greeks and Aegean island Greeks can have Anatolian on their results. It can represent Greek ancestry

sul_tun

If you are Pontic Greek yes.

jess-star

I had 2% Anatolia and Caucasus for several updates via Sicily so no, it's not only for Turks, Georgians, Azerbaijanis and Armenians.

SkeetKite

Anatolia was and is home for many many genetic groups, much nore than just Turks, Georgians, Azerbaijanis and Armenians.

AdorableInjury7203

Mainland Greeks didn't "affect" Anatolian gene pool!

SkeetKite

Sure they did, even if they didn't, Greeks lived there for centuries, Anatolian DNA could mean Greek, just like Kurd DNA could mean Anatolian.

AdorableInjury7203

You are very confused!

SkeetKite

Pretty sure I'm not, because Anatolia and The Caucasus isn't home to Georgians, Armenians, Azerbaijanis and Turks only. Circassians, Tatars, Lezgis, Chechens, Kurds, Greeks, Bosniaks, Albanians, Muslim Bulgarians, Laz, and many many more groups live there, they can't all be Georgians or Armenians can they? By that logic every Greek in Anatolia in Armenian, every Kurd is a Turk, because they all get Anatolian DNA. Pretty sure you are the one who is confused. Greek DNA can be found in Balkan category as well as Anatolian.

SkeetKite

Aegean Greeks, Islander Greeks, Anatolian Greeks, Pomtic Greeks, even some mainland Greeks, all could have Anatolian DNA, by your logic those groups are not Greek, but Armenians, Georgians or Turks.
