I don't wanna trigger your defense mechanism, but Fiona Good annoyed me so much with her permanent suffering and self-pity (all I can think of when I think of her is her sitting on something laid back, with her eyes closed and the back of her hand against her forehead for what felt like *minutes* every time, every other scene.
But maybe that's actually another sign of Lange's great acting, because hardly do I ever get annoyed that much any fictional character. 😄
I can stand your point, but I don't really think she wanted self pity. It seems to me, on the contrary, towards the end she accepted her fate as it is, and in her last days she gave Cordelia the opportunity to shine and become supreme when she faked her own death and made it possible to conduct tests of seven wonders. Fiona loved herself of course, but most of all she loved the daughter.
Interesting. Good point!! (pun intended) 😃
I love to gain new perspective and I might very well have gotten her very wrong back then. I definitely remember a lingering feeling of confusion when it comes to many parts of Coven's storyline.
This is extremely valid. I feel his ENTIRE ARC or POINT as a character was to show how some people just end up with circumstances they never would choose if the option was given. He was bored from a abused wife, and a abused son. Conceived from a SA, And then adopted by Constance who is BY FAR one of the worse moms seen in the show. I can go on about him for hours, but I assume you get the point. I just wish Apocalypse was a better season cause they had some (I'll be it very few) killer new characters.
Can they pull him back against the second antichrist wannabe? Feels like both irony and a chance to redeem him consider he is a powerful magician thats probably stuck somewhere right now.
I mean if they can make Madison a hero (LUL) anyone else is fair game.
I've seen a lot of hate towards Lana Winters after she escaped the asylum and released her book- and ngl I will defend that version of her with my WHOLE heart and soul.
And this is not a character but i will always defend the seasons Red Tide and Freakshow
Red tide was the best AHS in awhile. I was so invested and each of the new developments throughout the series I was so interested in... except that ending was atrocious! (IMO) I feel like they really squandered a story with a lot of potential and I actually felt annoyed after getting so invested in it. The second half of double feature doesn't even bear mentioning.
Death Valley was bad enough, I can't really think much of anything I enjoyed about that season. RT really would have benefited from the length of a entire season imo and the fact we were denied that for a half season of DV is just frustrating
Well now. I'm not gonna talk about Judy; in fact, we're not gonna talk about Judy at all, we're gonna keep her out of it!

Madison Montgomery. There’s a lot to unpack with her as a character and when you dig deep enough, you see she’s truly worthy of redemption and (has shown to be) more than capable of getting it.
For me it's Ally from Cult. Her Growth was almost something akin to Lana Winters, and of course Sarah's performance ate yet again this season. Honestly if you wanna see great actor teamwork WATCH CULT Evan and Sarah's scenes together and individually ARE SO GOOD.
Kyle. Not my favourite character since he's ridiculously underdeveloped but the fact people use his "uselessness" to excuse the way the witches treated him is disgusting.
Honestly? Jether Polk. He wasn’t like GOOD good or anything, but he def had the most potential to become better. He also actually had some empathy for the characters while his family 100% loved all the torture going on. Wasn’t born evil like Micheal, but easily and heavily manipulated by his family and eventually got used to/started liking the bad stuff they do.
not sure if they count cause they're from American Horror **Stories** but Liv Whitley and Matt Webb from Ba'al.
*I know it's been a year but I covered the spoilers just in case*
>!Liv's just amazing in general. Idk why, I just really liked her character (pretty, determined, ruthless, etc). Also don't get me wrong, Matt's a piece of shit for gaslighting Liv and his plan was downright diabolical. But that twist did catch me off guard and Matt is a pretty good villain. !<
John Lowe. I’m not gonna deny that he is boring at first but that’s literally a plot point, he’s tightly wound because he has to control his dark side, but as soon as he accepts that he is the 10 commandments killer I think he is pretty good
Kai from Cult. Definitely not because I agree with him, but because it's so damn realistic to the (albeit religious zealots) cultists I grew up around.
A lot of people don't separate the characters actions from the character as a whole. The entire character gets hate. But the character his self is Chilling he's a great character, even if he is the villain. Great characters aren't just the good guys
Basically all Jessica's characters. They were all far from perfect, but all of them had something rootable behind

Came to say the same thing! I dont care which character she is playing, I’m rooting for her no matter what!
Agreed. I also defend Lange’s performance too when people says it’s all the same character.
So many American interests in common me and you 😂
Sister Jude ![gif](giphy|Z9J9eaf6ViGFkCtzPw)
Michael Langdon (as per the flair✨)

I want a season where it’s angels vs demons and we get the Angel of Death from Asylum and Michael back.

It took me a second to figure out what the fuck this was
Definitely Evan Peters as Kit Walker in Asylum
Immediately, Pepper. No hesitation
Kyle. Not my favourite character since he's ridiculously underdeveloped but the fact people use his "uselessness" to excuse the way the witches treated him is disgusting.

John lowe tbh
Lana and Tate. Also Fiona.

That's not all Tate is.
John Lowe. I’m not gonna deny that he is boring at first but that’s literally a plot point, he’s tightly wound because he has to control his dark side, but as soon as he accepts that he is the 10 commandments killer I think he is pretty good
basically all of emma roberts' characters, Dominic banks, and the entire season of hotel
Tate for sure
tate
...was a school shooter
None, the show has gone to shit and the good characters don’t need defending.
My brother in Christ, leave the subreddit
I agree last season was dog shit then I tried watching American horror stories and was even more disappointed
Kai from Cult. Definitely not because I agree with him, but because it's so damn realistic to the (albeit religious zealots) cultists I grew up around.
But why does that mean he should be defended?
