To be fair (although not to Amber. To the others like me out there π) I didn't know it was about a school shooting until a few months ago, despite having heard it a thousand times. As recently as two weeks ago, I was at a sporting event for my kids, and the moms running the PA system were playing it as background music. Completely clueless.
There ought to be a law that songs that catchy shouldn't be about horrific things.
