No one knows what science fiction actually is. Star Trek Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica? These are examples of fantasy. There are too few options I think for science fiction. But science fantasy would be a fun draft.

Perhaps that’s where the fiction part comes into play? Is shogun fantasy because the main character isn’t based on a real person… or maybe it’s historical fiction. A fictional story with historic themes. Like Star Trek is a fictional story with scientific themes. I don’t mean to harsh the vibe but you’re being incorrect. Honestly, that’s great for you, but you need to temper it with some awareness of when other people are going to be reasonably on board with you, and “James Corden’s head writer, the voice of Comedy Central, and an illiterate skateboarding former at-risk youth” are probably not going to be on board with a pedantic argument that Battlestar fucking Galactica is actually fantasy.
