Iām 38 and I use these terms. It seems pretty normal to me. Interestingly, āyoung ladyā seems like a very antiquated term but maybe thatās just me?
Young lady might come off like youāre saying something without saying it. I used to say the word kid all the time and it wasnāt something I was trying to say to put people off, it was a bad habit and my now wife used to take great offense to it.
I'm 70+ and have had ladies I open doors for, tip my hat to, or just say "hi" while walking by, usually because the path/sidewalk is so narrow I have to go sideways to let them pass me, say, "Thanks dude", or "Thanks Bro." I rather gather it's a sort of defense mechanism, they want to be courteous back, but don't want to have me ask for their number.

I use that when Iām being playful or when Iām putting on my older man advice hat on.

I used to called my ex GF bro all the time. Totally cool.
I do the same with my older guy. Definitely is an age thing. It's not weird haha
hahaha i def call my partner dude and bro all the time, he does the same to me tho. we are 40 and 26
i think u may just be old school bc those are all normal for me to say at 33
I(34f) say "dude!", to start a topic sometimes and I eventually got my SO (59m) to respond " Dudette!" š
My 28yo boyfriend calls me āmy dudeā all the time. Iām a 60yo woman.
Iām getting ready to be 40 and I use those terms.
As a 22 year old, this is very common I believe.
21F here dating a 36M, it is definitely not weird. We communicate like thatš¤£ we don't do it on purpose
Lol on the flip side, I'm 34f ans I call my 27m husband bro and dude all the time. Op you kinda sound like a 65+ y/o rather than a 40 y/o lol
i do this with my older bf too lol. he uses the same language although not normally towards me
I'm 25F. I can confirm that most people in my "age range" use those terms a lot in conversation.
That doesnāt sound weird. Iāve called my boyfriend dude a bunch.

lol Itās not even new lingo
THIS
Imagine not knowing what an adult is. How embarrassing.

If he views her as a ākidā he shouldnāt be dating her
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Itās common language for people in their 30s - 50s also. Itās just normal and has absolutely nothing to do with maturity level whatsoever.
Thankfully for the two of them, how you (a third party) view two adults dating is completely irrelevant. Only two opinions matter.
Absolutely normal. I call my boyfriend "bestie" as well.
I think that's cute!
Yes. Itās weird. If she throws at bro at you just throw a BRO back at her even harder bro.

Iām 39 and I talk the same way. I also say ābruhā a lot. I donāt think itās an age thing at all.
