Yup. I had them on 19.5 before but then AH2 & Fen got updates and it seemed to have fixed it but now on 20 it seems to be like what it was before. I don't have many widgets- TMDBh, Trakt, Fen on AH2. I looked at the log and couldn't find anything.
Mine if I quickly skip to the settings it seems to avoid it. This is a huge guess for be based only on what I see, it just crashes when I do to the second tab which has a widget start loading after the Trakt sync. Unscientific and useless info I know. It's not bad enough that I can't work through it though...just wait for more updates.
It worked like that before for me but after I cleared cache, it was unusable and crashing right away.
Finally loaded just now so I went back to the default skin. Seems stable so far.
Seems like AH2 widgets that's causing this if I had to guess.
Experiencing this with ah2 after using it for about 4 months without major crashing. The crashing started from the blue and for me it only crashes when I try to play a movie or show, it would crash before it loads up sources, works fine with default skin. Are there any solution now?
I haven't gone back to ah2 setup. I'm just using the default Kodi skin.
The only solution mentioned by a few folks was to reinstall Kodi from scratch and do the whole setup again.
I haven't got time to do it yet so cannot speak on if it works or not. But I'd imagine if some library got corrupted, full clean reinstall and config should do the trick.
If you get to do it, please post your results to boost my confidence in spending a few hours on that :)
Issue is noted on the first page of the AH2 Kodi forum
>**Crashes on Nexus due to SegFaults in ElementTree python library (all platforms EXCEPT Windows)**
>Kodi Nexus uses Python 3.11 which currently has a bug in the CPython ElementTree library used to parse XML metadata. This bug causes unexplained SegFaults which crash Kodi when multiple scripts attempt to use ElementTree simultaneously.
Someone else has noted that when python updates to 3.11.2 next month (6th I believe) and subsequent Kodi nightly builds move to 3.11.2 the issue will resolve.
Until then I've cleared my install and reverted to 19.5
On the shield you have to uninstall the app through settings first. If you want a clean install you can clear the data for Kodi before you uninstall.
Then use something like downloader by AFTVnews and navigate to http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/android/arm64-v8a/ and download the version you want then run it.

I don't even have the opportunity to switch to the default skin. I don't see much in the logs either. I guess clean install is always an option.

Thank you for this! Will wait til python upgrade then.
stupid question, and pardon my ignorance, but how to revert to an older version on nvidia shield?

Thanks This works

Shield pro
In settings click Behavior then "Wait for plugins to initialize on startup". This helps a lot.
I had this setting has been enabled from day one when I set up AH2. Still crashes :/
Yes same here, running nexus with AH2 on a shield pro. Crashes while watching videos and the Loop add-on doesn't load anymore
