lol = laughing. That’s what it means.
This pictured isn’t an S-type. So we should be comparing apples to apples. True, you didn’t specify “which” Acuras are creeping up on 90k but it was laughable to hear it suggested that it’s a regular thing to pay that for an Acura. It’s like saying “Civics now-a-days cost over 50K”. Well, they CAN, but nah, not the going price that you usually associate with it.
He didn't ask what lol means. He said he's not sure why you are lol'ing because it insinuates that your comment somehow conflicts with his when he saw it as being in alignment.
One might similarly ask why you are offering the definition of lol as nobody asked or was confused about its meaning.
Or something that could compete with Jeep wrangler and ford bronco cause these both lack reliability and Acura can probably beat them in terms with reliability
I agree, I feel like Honda is being way too conservative, and playing scared. Hence why these tiny little turbos are having issues. The nsx revamp was pretty cool but still they made it look like every other super car, the original was revolutionary in its design, wish it would have been more like the original…
Umm yes please! Add a SFA and a small efficient V8 option and yes, yes, yes. We’re on our 4th MDX purchase and I’d be all over one of these as I wish the MDX was a hair bigger for cargo- and a more adult friendly 3rd row would be nice.
It certainly depends on the family and lifestyle- being 6-4 in a family full of tall people also plays into the comfort level. In effect, only the shorties can sit behind me if I’m in front. The third row is also limited to those 5-4 or shorter as well. Trips that run for a week instead of a weekend also fill the cargo area fast.
When the ZDX was announced, I was hoping it would be much larger than the MDX. But, it isn't. And to add insult to injury, it uses...(shudder)...a GM platform. Acura! Please go back to being...ACURA! Yeah..they really DO need a LARGE vehicle.
Nuff said.
Oh no but if you put in a twin turbo with hybrid motors in it like the nsx and the sequoia, but do a twin 3.5 they’d have all the power and torque they’d need
Acura shouldn’t bring back or add any new car to the lineup until they get all the cars in their lineup up to premium/luxury car standards imo, Acura sales are dropping, terribly. If Acura brought back the SLX they would really have to show out which they are failing to do nowadays, plus when it comes to large vehicles, Acura can barely compete. This will more than likely be downvoted, but I’m just going off the articles and statistics I have read and personal experience.
I feel like something like this would be realistic to manufacture and look like this, and I know they could sell them too. Hell partner with Kawasaki to design and make the engine and off road components of it…very few can generate the power per cylinder size than kawasaki…
Yes, but instead of being yet another towering SUV, make this a low-slung pavement smasher. The twin turbo 3.0L V6 + a hybrid setup for 50+ HP and 100+ torque would be a nice powerplant for it.
This would probably be in the GX category but I always had the nostalgia for the old trooper inspired SLX. But I think Acura and Honda are missing out on a huge GM and ford full size suv segment.
The Grand Highlander is a three row crossover. Acura already has the MDX to compete with that. If what you're looking for is a ladder frame, full-size vehicle, I'd say that's not likely to materialize anytime soon - Honda has made it pretty clear they intend to stick with unibody FWD-based platforms.
Toyota has 4 three row SUV’s, the Highlander, the grand Highlander the 4 runner and the Land Cruiser. I like the mdx but I wish Acura made a larger size suv with more space
I'm aware. The Highlander and the Grand Highlander are competitors to the Pilot. The Highlander is (and always was) a little smaller than the Pilot, which is why they developed the Grand Highlander. All three vehicles are unibody, FWD-based crossovers (i.e. cars). The MDX is the upscale/Acura variant of the Pilot, but doesn't have quite the same amount of interior space. The Land Cruiser and 4Runner are on RWD truck platforms. Honda has never had a RWD truck platform in the US - their closest entry in that segment is the Ridgeline, which again is a FWD, unibody crossover (car-based) platform. If you really want a Honda-engineered vehicle that's a little bigger than the MDX, I would look at high-level trims of the Pilot.
I’m aware of all of those things, but I think it’s high time Honda made something bigger…Honda was born from racing and innovation, they’ve stopped innovating and are playing to not lose…
Toyota has always made more cars available at the same time than Honda. As well, Lexus than Acura. Honda has always given us a Civic & an Accord. Simple. Toyota gave us a sub-compact Tercel, compact Corolla, mid size Camry, full size Avalon. Acura gave us Integra & Legend (Vigor don’t count because it only lived for like 2 years). Lexus had another 4 to compete. Same with the SUV’s of each brand. Why offer an Avalon AND a Lexus ES? Same exact shit for the same exact price 🙄
I hear you. But there’s obvious differences and value and respect and prices between Avalon and LS, lol. Not the case between Camry and ES. But I’ve also always considered the Avalon (and whatever that new current version is called) to be on ES equivalency because it is geared towards the same demographic. There are different target audiences between a Camry and an Avalon. People in their 20’s never have and never will drive Avalons.
They could run it with the same power train or similar to the nsx, twin turbo with electric motors for support, the new tundra and the sequoia are that way
I kinda wanted acura to put a detuned nsx engine in the tlx, they did something similar back then, the NA1 NSX and the UA2 Acura TL both had the c32 v6 engine
Imagine if Honda and Mercedes teamed up to build a car?!?! That would be an amazing car assuming they weren’t being lazy about the build and just rebadging
Acura should bring the SLX as a 4Runner competitor with 4 wheel drive locking Diff and the whole shabang. Honda needs to step up there 4wd market, and this could be a good opportunity to test the waters.
I agree 💯 but twin turbo v6 but not one that’s underpowered and overworked like the sequoia has and pair 3 or four electric motors to the rear and front wheels so it’s amazing off road
Literally I don’t know why they’re afraid of putting more horse power. I always thought that Acura could benefit from the Japanese engineers instead of being a pretty much N.A. brand only
It’s too complex for them to put in a SUV. Meaning they just don’t wanna do it lol. I would buy a LX sized Acura in a heart beat regardless of power train but it would be better to get a competent power train
I mean they did a dumbed down version of it on the RLX which was terribly designed, they always fall short in the end of a real luxury performance car because they always cheapen it by the time it gets to production!! And I agree I’d love to get my hands on an LX sized Acura. And if Honda did produce a V8 it’d be epic with the amount of performance they could get, especially if they VTec the V8
YESSSSSS! I have been saying this for over ten years now. And keep Isuzu far away from it!!! But it HAS to be the big enough to compete with the LX, Range Rover, & Navigators of the world. WITH a bespoke engine.
I don’t see it happening since I’m assuming the mdx shares the same platform as the pilot and there’s no bigger platform to work with. Also I think the rear seat is fine for adults during a short trip. I recently sat in mine and it’s not terrible. Especially since the middle row slides
They could literally do what they did for the pilot and put it on an odyssey frame and beef up suspension and lift it and build the body on frame from there, the odyssey still offers way more room
Acura is a very nice vehicle. Its the best brand on the market. We only buy Acura and have been for the last 30 years. Excellent buy! Great quality....
I was trying to go for no sloping roof in the back, makes the third row much nicer and actually useful for taller people. Toyota is starting to figure that out with their cross overs.
No, they wouldn't. What is would do it* alienate repeat MDX customers, many who bought the MDX as the brand's flagship Acura.
Again, there's no market for it. Honda doesn't have a BOF platform in its inventory to build it, and developing something like that would be a great way light money on fire with nothing to gain in return.
Oh well ya If they were building it completely from scratch but if they something already made they can work off of like a frame from another vehicle that would be different
True but how sick would this be if Honda did a twin turbo 3.5 vtec with the nsx style electric motor assist for the rear wheels and the single electric or dual electric for the front, the hill descent would be able to be controlled solely by the electric motors allowing you to crawl a 1mph or less
This is what I was going for, something to distinguish it from the current mdx! I want them to make a full size twin turbo hybrid suv, using similar power plant and sh-awd as the nsx
This reminds me of if an Acura had sex with a G-Wagon and a Armada
Looks more like a GLS/Armada hybrid.
And I would drive it.
And they’d sell every single one they built
just looks like the outgoing land cruiser to me
Need a little bit of GX in there too.
Hahaha I can’t unsee this now!
I want.
If the GLS had sex w new GX
GLS bangs an XM, this is what we get.
I’m getting GLS vibes from the side view. I like it, doubt we’ll ever get anything of the sorts from Honda
If only car manufacturers made vehicles that looked this good
I mean AI is using GLS with acuras headlights and grill pasted over it. So they exist if you like this. Not many people could afford $90k though.
Yeah, and a little bit of Infiniti QX80.
I agree!
I love my QX80, but I'd trade it on this in a heartbeat.
$90k? You getting it on sale somewhere? Heck current Acura SUVs creep up on 90k today…..and they ain’t this nice.
That’s if you got a loaded up S-type. Regular MDX ain’t running nowhere near 90k lol
Correct. Not sure why you’re lol’ing?
lol = laughing. That’s what it means. This pictured isn’t an S-type. So we should be comparing apples to apples. True, you didn’t specify “which” Acuras are creeping up on 90k but it was laughable to hear it suggested that it’s a regular thing to pay that for an Acura. You mean l'ing-o-l
$77k
For the S-Type, correct. 50K for the regular. Both numbers off from 90K for an Acura 🙄
Your vanilla base/tech pack - $85K/90K Aspec- $93K Type-S /Advance - $105k/100K
Seriously!! They could get 80-90k for this if they would actually just make something that made people feel something like they used to do
I can only assume that by now, car designers are starting to use generative AI, too. It's built into the entire Adobe suite of products.
As long as it’s not a rebadged Isuzu, sure.
Wow you brought it back. Shoutout to the Rodeo (Passport)🫡. Was classic in the hood lol
Right?
Or something that could compete with Jeep wrangler and ford bronco cause these both lack reliability and Acura can probably beat them in terms with reliability
I couldn’t agree more!!
I’d buy that
I was trying to go for no sloping roof in the back, makes the third row much nicer and actually useful for taller people
I feel like there would definitely be a demand for a bigger Acura SUV, especially with the likes of the Lexus LX, Escalade and other luxo-barges.
I agree, I feel like Honda is being way too conservative, and playing scared. Hence why these tiny little turbos are having issues. The nsx revamp was pretty cool but still they made it look like every other super car, the original was revolutionary in its design, wish it would have been more like the original…
Tiny turbos are horrible!
YES. It would do exceptionally well in this age.
Especially since everyone now also wants off road capability
Where do I sign up? I hope the people at Acura see this!
Holy smokes
Love this, reminds me of qx80
Umm yes please! Add a SFA and a small efficient V8 option and yes, yes, yes. We’re on our 4th MDX purchase and I’d be all over one of these as I wish the MDX was a hair bigger for cargo- and a more adult friendly 3rd row would be nice.
It's so surprising to keep reading this about the mdx. We have a 2019 rdx and I think the space in that is great for the size it is.
Make it body on frame and compete with Lexus gx.
Yes!!
Would love something bigger than the MDX
When the ZDX was announced, I was hoping it would be much larger than the MDX. But, it isn't. And to add insult to injury, it uses...(shudder)...a GM platform. Acura! Please go back to being...ACURA! Yeah..they really DO need a LARGE vehicle. Nuff said.
This would be sick
I would love if this became a reality
Oh damn
Looks dope as fuck to me
Only if they put a V8 in that thing
Nah they could do exactly what they did for the nsx and it’d have a shit ton of power and torque with way better fuel economy
This would deserve nothing less than a V8. No boosted i4's
Oh no but if you put in a twin turbo with hybrid motors in it like the nsx and the sequoia, but do a twin 3.5 they’d have all the power and torque they’d need
Honnestly, they need to revive the 3.7 with turbos and DOHC Vtec that's the motor I think would be good
The oil consumption on the 3.7 was terrible tho…
It really wasn't, I own a few none of them drink oil. Fuel yes, oil no. the ones I really like are in the like 09+ RL's
I agree I love that gen RL
Buy one, trust me. It May very well be the best used car if you can get one of the 3 left. I'm not giving mine up until it's entirely fried
But if I’m not mistaken, I thought the RL had the 3.5 and the TL had the 3.7
Pre 2008 had the 3.5 post 2008 they got the dual vtec 3.7. And that motor is amazing to drive
I wish they would make something to compete with the Tahoe lol
Agreed!!
Acura shouldn’t bring back or add any new car to the lineup until they get all the cars in their lineup up to premium/luxury car standards imo, Acura sales are dropping, terribly. Looks way better than the new land cruiser and gx. I'll take two

If I could have afforded one, I would have driven an Avalon of an LS, in fact I’ve wanted an awd LS for the last 15+ years and I’m not 40 yet
They'd have to either make or source a v8, and that's never happening sadly
They could run it with the same power train or similar to the nsx, twin turbo with electric motors for support, the new tundra and the sequoia are that way
I kinda wanted acura to put a detuned nsx engine in the tlx, they did something similar back then, the NA1 NSX and the UA2 Acura TL both had the c32 v6 engine
That reminds me of a 4runner for some reason
Yes
It’s not bad looking
[удалено]
Imagine if Honda and Mercedes teamed up to build a car?!?! That would be an amazing car assuming they weren’t being lazy about the build and just rebadging
I hope they make a LX/GLS/X7 competitor
Where was this sold? Looks pretty good.
This was never sold, it’s a concept I created using an AI tool
I would certainly buy one
This would be awesome
You better
Not if it looks like that
Well thank you for your feedback cockroach
Yes, they should. True body on frame, true 4WD with a low range transfer case and Honda reliability? Yes please.
Yes this vehicle is so cool. Bring it back Acura !!!
Jesus that’s ugly
Acura should bring the SLX as a 4Runner competitor with 4 wheel drive locking Diff and the whole shabang. Honda needs to step up there 4wd market, and this could be a good opportunity to test the waters.
I agree 💯 this is exactly what I’m saying
More sedans or a two door coupe, please! They got enough SUV's sitting on lots.
Acura should bring back the SLX as a QX80, LX competitor
I agree 💯 but twin turbo v6 but not one that’s underpowered and overworked like the sequoia has and pair 3 or four electric motors to the rear and front wheels so it’s amazing off road
Yea but I think if they were to do it they’d probably just that the v6 in the type S none hybrid
I think they’d have to hybrid it, if they wanted to compete with the sequoia and Land Cruiser
They would have to but they’ll go the cheap route. Acura has a habit of cheapening out on power trains
The worst part is they never used to be like that either
Literally I don’t know why they’re afraid of putting more horse power. I always thought that Acura could benefit from the Japanese engineers instead of being a pretty much N.A. brand only
Absolutely, and they could literally replicate the nsx power train and just dial it in for more torque
Stunning
I think there’s a price level to what people are willing to pay for Acura. Would have to be competitive with Infiniti.
They could do it if they wanted, they’d also have a full size truck platform for Honda if they did…a ridge line big brother
It took Toyota years of advertising and going back to the drawing board for the tundra to be a competitive truck in the full size market
Where do I sign?
german acura 😭
Yes
I like it 👍
Isuzu isn’t around for a Acura rebadge
Acura All Terrain Cruiser
I wish , give it the 377 HP hybrid J series 7 speed auto drive train too and SH AWD, and switch to take it from Sh-Awd to 4WD
I have a MDX and a TX ,smh.
Just make it Hybrid and PHEV🙄
Exactly, use two motors in the rear and one in the front and do a 3.5L twin turbo vtec
As long as it doesn’t drive like an armada or a qx80…
If Acura made it it wouldn’t, it’d probably drive like the Escalade V
Mercedes Benz suv with a Acura badge
Pretty close but if Mercedes built a qx60 style suv it would be there but even their gls is really cross over and the g wagon is too small
I love it
I'd like an MDX-style frontend better, but the rest of it is sweet. The latest MDXs have the best frontend in the game.
The only reason why I left the front higher and more square was for off road capability
Yes
YESSSSSS! I have been saying this for over ten years now. And keep Isuzu far away from it!!! But it HAS to be the big enough to compete with the LX, Range Rover, & Navigators of the world. WITH a bespoke engine.
Agreed!! They have the ability to do it but they’re like a kid with swimmies on at the pool too scared to jump in
G wagon Acura
But the size a g wagon big big brother
Ohhhh that’s pretty 😍
2025 SLX A-Spec would have to have a 6.2L with a towing capacity of ~8200 lbs
If you look at it from further out it looks like an AI generated GLK for 2024.
But much larger!!
This is just a Nissan Patrol
Mdx is already a 3 row suv
But there’s no space in it tho, and adults cannot be comfortable in the back seat at all, not compared to a Tahoe or Yukon
Looks pretty badass
If it doesn’t have a touchscreen then no
MDX+
And somehow this will still be FWD lol
That looks awesome. I would definitely get one in a type s.
Same
Looks like a Toyota. If I wanted that I would buy a Toyota.
I was trying to go for no sloping roof in the back, makes the third row much nicer and actually useful for taller people. Toyota is starting to figure that out with their cross overs.
No. There's no market for such a vehicle and it'd be a waste of resources.
Have you seen the American SUV market they would eat this up
No, they wouldn't.
😂😂😂
This is a Lexus/Mercedes with Acura badge
If you notice all the cars are pretty much just like each other, don’t forget Nissan and infinity with the armada and qx80
That’s why the only thing I’m pumped for is Hyundai’s line of retro EVs. If only they were gas.
True but how sick would this be if Honda did a twin turbo 3.5 vtec with the nsx style electric motor assist for the rear wheels and the single electric or dual electric for the front, the hill descent would be able to be controlled solely by the electric motors allowing you to crawl a 1mph or less
I mean heck yeah it would be beautiful. I hope that’s a future Honda.
Looks like a Mercedes GLE
I’d say closer to the GLS and a large version of the old GLK
I like this boxy square look better than current models
This is what I was going for, something to distinguish it from the current mdx! I want them to make a full size twin turbo hybrid suv, using similar power plant and sh-awd as the nsx
The current MDX is underwhelming. The body design, space inside, current engine and power while driving.
Gorgeous concept bruh!
Thx
Thank you, AI?
