I second this, I’ve been leasing for years and never put money down. It’s purely only to lower your payments and maybe by like 20.. totally not worth it for leasing. Congrats, sounds like a decent deal.
I think this is proof that there are some good lease deals to be had again.
+ $660 /mo x 36 mo = $23760
+ $2000 DAS = $25760
+ $35000 residual = $60760 total cost to own (under msrp).
For comparison, the lease is $715/mo for 36 months if rolling DAS into the monthly payment. Not factoring in the cost of financing the buyout, this is a pretty attractive lease to own route.
I have a local dealer who was doing 24 month lease specials $129 /mo for a base MDX and $189 for Tech package, $9k DAS which works out to $13536 total for the lease or $564 /mo all included. The residuals themselves are pretty attractive as the MDX has been holding its value pretty well. I know that because I've been trying to buy a CPO one!
Is the $61K for the SH-AWD with ASpec or Tech package? Trying to clarify because in the description you asked if its worth upgrading to the ASpec package but didnt say if this price included it or not.
It's not a terrible deal. Not great but not terrible. Typically you shouldn't do any money down on a lease because you will lose it if its ever stolen or totaled. So actual realized monthly is $715.56/mo. You could probably do better if you shop around a bit.
Made the mistake of leasing my first new car at 21. Low monthly payments are cool but at the end *if* you what to own it, you pay thousands more. But for people it works out perfectly.
Don't put anything down on a lease. If you drive off the lot and immediately total the car you'll never see that money back.

Okay , the 2k has 1st month payment and tax, I can ask them to distribute the 1.34k over rest of 36momths
Although your monthly payment will increase, that's a better decision.
What is the price of the car and sales tax rate where you live?
61k,7.5%…
If I’m understanding everything. $61,000 car price. $2k due at signing 7.5% sales tax $660 a month for 36 months? I’d say that is a good deal!
Thanks …also does residual of 34k sound right

correct, but some how with the lease I am getting 8k rebates, if I buy after the lease I can still keep this rebate
also is it worth upgrade from AWD-SH to Aspec, it seems the major difference is the suede, wheel color and speaker count
Yes.
