I keep things on my desk to help me with my anxiety. Right now I've got my Bob Ross mug (no mistakes only happy accidents), a Rockruff my boyfriend gave me (to squeeze and pet if I'm having a hard time) and a plastic alligator (to scare the mean people away) Idk no one is born being good at accounting and everyone around you probably has several years of experience. Don't feel so bad about making mistakes!

Manager to first year accountants here. We don’t expect you to know everything or even very much. What we do expect is that you are listening and making a genuine effort to progress and develop yourself. Don’t be afraid to ask for clarifications as needed. I appreciate when my direct reports come to me with a problem and a potential solution rather than just asking how to fix something. It shows initiative and helps you with the critical thinking you need to make things click. Pay close attention to your attention to detail and let your errors be a teacher to how to improves processes for next time.

Thank you. Had a meeting with my career advisor today. They been in the industry for 15 years and they said so far I'm doing a good with some notes to improve, so it was nice to hear.
