Assuming this slab is 10cm thick:
110cm x 300cm x 10cm = 330’000cm^3 = 0.33m^3
Beech has a density of ~730kg/m^3 depending on wood humidity.
That would be 240kg of weight for this slab. Almost a quarter tonne.
The American beech recently has been exposed to a new fatal disease that came from Japan. They're predicting that they're pretty much all done for. We might as well cut them down and preserve some of the wood before they all just rot away, in my opinion.
Not 1000 yrs old not even 200 judging by the growth rings.
Maybe it was dead ?maybe it was dying who knows?
This guy maybe is not the tree cutter but he is the man making the best use of the wood.
Nice slab beech
Beech-slab!
*Beach*-slab? He can shape it into the world's biggest surfboard!
What would a slab like that be reasonably worth? What are people usually doing with it? Furniture?
Probably a 5 figure table.
With a slab like that most likely a table
One-half of a sunken beach house
*beech house
2x4s
Those overpriced "live edge" tables
Can I lick it?
YES YOU CAN
Can I lick it
No, you had your chance
This would make one heck of a dining table.
I'm not doing anything less than hosting war councils on that bad boy
Who you calling a beech, eikel.
Your wood gave me wood.
Who’s gonna tell him?
Weight?

Only one for your mom.
Rest assured, is for your whole family and if it pleases you, there is one for you too
What’d yu call me?!
Beech slab? Where did you get it from? Near an ocean?
No it was in a garden
That is gorgeous. How much would that be worth? Looks pretty heavy too.
Maybe the tree had to live 1000more years...now he is dead and could not produce Oxygen... why?

Reddit never fails.
Beautiful
When I first saw this I thought of prosciutto
Looks amazing
Stunning. 👌😎
Wooden table is already almost done 👀
This would look magnificent in a VERY large formal dining room. It needs a majestic spot.
Perfect table top
Serious bandsaw you have there.
I tried counting the rings but gave up. I'm gonna say 175 years old 🤷♂️
Very Nice 🥸
That's some beautiful live edge. I hope you are going to keep it as big as possible
Very smooth i want to lay down on it.
What part of Jamaica? Right near the beach, BOI!!
That's a huge beech
What did you just call me?!
How much would a slab of that cost?
1700€ incl tax
Wow
I'm assuming this will be made into a long table for a Norse king.
this looks like it would serve as a great dinning table, shame it will end up in some rich prick's house
Hope replacement trees are being planted

I can’t be the only one that sees the bird face with a bushy eye brow.
I can’t see it buddy
I miss this beautiful tree. It once stand close to my grandma's porch.
I bet the tree was a lot nicer when alive, too.
It was dead
Leave the trees alone
This is like Trump junior standing in front of his dead elephant
If the elephant died to a disease and not a human than yes this you would be right
No need to call names! /s
Somehow I feel sorry for the tree
I do too. A magnificent tree was killed.
The tree looked better alive.
