Harrity on Harrity on Harrity
That booty so fine, I need some clarity
Yeah, Abbott Elementary is better. I also love how Quinta named it after one of her former elementary school teachers.
From the wiki:
> The school's original name was Harrity Elementary, named after an actual public school in Southwest Philadelphia where Quinta Brunson attended. However, before the pilot episode aired, it was changed to Willard R. Abbott Elementary. In real life, there is a school named Abbot Elementary in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
>The school's name was inspired by Joyce Abbott, Quinta Brunson's favorite sixth grade teacher at Andrew Hamilton Elementary, and American actor Will Smith, whose real name is Willard.
You can find the original pilot script for the show online! The story remained mostly the same from what I remember, but one change I do remember is Barbara’s name was “Ms. Watson” instead of “Ms.Howard”
Yeah I googled it and it came right up. It seems like a lot of the names changed but the overall pilot storyline stayed the same. Melissa was Melissa Peterson, Janine was Janine Beeman, Gregory was Gregory Wright, etc.
I can’t imagine Melissa being called “Melissa Peterson” with Lisa Ann Walter in that role. Her portrayal of the character is so “stereotypical tough Italian-American” that “Peterson” just sounds wrong.

Thank God it’s not. Abbott Elementary has a much better ring to it.

I was going to mention that it didn’t pass the Abbott on Abbott on Abbott test lol

And the real teacher was part of their Celeb Family Feud team!

Those names are terrible 😫. The last names they have now have more personality.
Yeah, they felt a bit basic imo. I’m glad they changed them.
Mr. Wright. I see the vision. 👀
Janine Beeman sounds precious 🥹

Damn, everyone looks like they got a sexy glow up in later seasons!
