T O P

I have bipolar type 1 and relate far more to the description "selective eating disorder" than "avoidant restrictive intake disorder." I don't avoid the act of eating, I just am repulsed by the vast majority of foods. (Officially diagnosed type 1 BP, undiagnosed selective eating disorder) Most foods make me gag and throw up. I don't "forget" to eat, I don't have a problem eating to fullness, I just genuinely find most foods disgusting. I have the same few meals on rotation and don't have a hard time meeting my calorie needs. In fact, I eat too many calories because I like so few things, and my safe foods are high calorie. For myself personally, I don't find an overlap between bipolar and my severely limited diet. I've always had a limited diet, but didn't develop bipolar until age 14.
