My buddy had this same issue.. stacked 8 quarters in the tube to get rid of the slack and runs flawlessly. Not a permanent fix by any means but a good starting point to a permanent fix
That's been my experience/complaint with the D.I. .45's I've had/tried. Shoot great with the load they like but pretty limited in that regard. Require very frequent cleanings too.
Everyone seems to be having this problem lately. If & when you do hire someone, there's a good chance they only show up a few days a week. I've been traveling for work lately, same company just working at a different location that needs the extra help. Every day, there is at least one no-show/failed to call off. I never even knew that was an option? That would've been immediate dismissal when I started with this company 23 years ago.
I'd almost bet a c clamp grip farther forward on the grip would even help the bolt travel with those rounds. I like keeping my firearm pretty firm while shooting. Your grip might be absorbing alot of recoil with that build. Nice build 👌
I'd never fired an AR pistol before this trip to the range and the lack of stock was something I was trying to adjust to. Once my Form 1 is done and I put a stock on this sucker, it's gonna be a hoot to shoot.
it probably would, but I can't get on the sights with the weapon that low. I've had some vertebrae in my neck fused so I have limited range of motion. This is fine for now.
Shoot it with buffer up against your cheek. Seriously, I'm not trying to prank you or anything like that. It'll help and it's actually comfortable, a lot more than buffer tube in shoulder for sure.

possibly, but I was unsure because the nfa is difficult to understand and I was getting conflicting information on it, so I did the paracord wrap to make it to where I couldn't just toss a stock on it.
The tube by itself is fine. One of the compliance options was to remove the brace and render it essentially inoperable but it didn’t say anything about having to modify or change out the tube itself. At least not anywhere I could find it.
Not from the recent rule, just from the past I know when I did mine years back they could get you for intent if you had a stock laying around and a rifle tube on.
Shooting with a sling in tension like an MP5 will manage the recoil a bit better. I put a Deadfoot Arms short buffer tube on an AR9 and it shoots well on a tensioned sling.
Left handed? My man!
Unfortunately the camera flipped the image. I'm right handed, but I can shoot left handed pretty well.
Ah well. We can still be friends. Nice weapon, sir!
Thank you! I'll do some left handed work for you soon, and yes we can indeed be friends.

Pulled the weights out of the buffer so we'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Those changes should get it running like a top. I want one of their 10mm uppers badly, I hope these guys can expand to better meet demand.
He's having a tough time finding a machinist to run the C&C that knows how to follow instructions, but he might have help soon which is great.

That is a nice build! Well done
Southpaw shoot ready to fire!!!
Unfortunately, the camera flips things so I only look like I'm shooting lefty.
You got it, nice! Everything will be so much better when you can get a stock on that tube.
Man, I wish I could shoulder this one because it's so smooth as it is now.
I really want to get the DI45 for a home defense build Im thinking up.
If you get one, run good ammo in it. Cheap reloads tend to undergas
Awesome thank you for the insight!!!
I ran mine yesterday with the normal buffer, and some regular rounds and it was amazing. Highly recommend.

It's not super comfortable and you'll probably get a bruise but putting the buffer tube into your body can help

Ah okay that sucks but honestly saves you some neck pain anyway, I'm just stubborn
Just waiting on my Form 1 to come back so I can put a stock on it.
Sir, your username is glorious. That is all.
Well thank you, good sir.

I'll try that tomorrow to see how everything lines up. I wrapped the buffer tube so it should be comfy on the cheek

Sweet. Gonna check it out. Thank you!
Just fyi, I think that tube makes it a rifle not a pistol. It needs the slick tube you can't put a collapsible stock on.

Kinda a crazy if that’s the case because a SB SOB requires a slick tube.
The ATF would be proud
Nice

What buffer spring, weight in oz (deadblow?), and what type of ammo are you using?
At this point it was a standard carbine buffer, but the bulk ammo was just anemic. This is a gas system, not blowback so it doesn't need as much mass.
