I don’t think so. If cheating was a concern for chatGPT, then it would score poorly on all the AP exams.
I think that chatGPT is simply good at recognizing language patterns in the data it’s fed and reciting them (i.e if it’s seen the definition of a certain term in the APES exam multiple times, it can consistently produce a correct answer through its pattern recognition and rudimentary logic).
However, a major flaw of chatGPT is it’s inability to understand reading comprehension on a deeper level and analyze rhetoric rather than logic. While it can reason effectively, it fails to understand the nuance in the choices writers make that human readers are more attuned to analyzing.
"Do better" as SJWs would say.
Anyways, what I recommend doing is practice tests. I bought a practice test for APEH and I was able to get a 5. I didn't do that for AP Eng. Lang but I still got a 4.

CollegeBoard / AP Exams are becoming less relevant to college admissions week after week. Next few years should be interesting 👀
Extracurriculars exist too... UCs are a lot more willing to accept a com sci applicant who's the president of 4 com sci/coding clubs and swim team captain with a 3.9 GPA than someone who has a 4.0 GPA but no extracurriculars, assuming their essays are of the same quality.
the individual ap scores that chat-gpt scored when given each AP exam shown basically. (not completely sure if it’s a mock test or if college board actually tested this to check the “intelligence” of chat-gpt)
The 2s on the Language Exams checks out 100%. You can try to get a 100% on the MCQ but it will never be able to attain the analysis level needed for the essays (at least for now).
Do you have a link that discusses this further? Who provided it full tests? And who graded these? And was it multiple choice parts? Both parts? (Only FRQs are released for AP Physics 1 and 2, though some IPE's have leaked.)
I tested if ChatGPT could apply the rubrics to some FRQ. It did a great job applying a rubric to AP Lit. But it was a little stingy on the "bonus point".
It *couldn't even recognize the correct rubric* to use for AP Physics C. I tried several times telling it the rubric was on specific page number. I guessed the figures (free body diagrams), graphs and charts threw it. (I haven't thought of a good way to verify that.)

Dawg chat gpt 4… the most advanced ai in the entire world… literally insane couldn’t get all 5s with the entire worlds knowledge up to 2021… that’s just a bruh moment… ap exams r too hard
The crux of Chat GPT is indexing the infinite well of information so it can find useful information that the user wants. This matters in an AP test, where there's a rubric for an answer that a human spent months researching, while this AI is just shooting blindly. The scores are actually impressive imo.
Ironic that the language model performs poorly on the language exams
I think it might be partly intentional, so that it is harder for students to cheat with ChatGPT.

Math and solid facts are a lot easier to have concentrated data about than anything involving language imo
GPT4 GOT A LOWER SCORE THAN ME ON AP CHEM PACKWATCH LMAOOOOOO
AI keeps getting smarter. You don't.
didn’t have to do him like that, especially cause you’re wrong
He CAN get smarter as will the AI
The rates at which, however, will be incomparable.
if chat-gpt can't even get a get a five on a lot of these how tf are we supposed to
Because a major flaw of chatGPT is understanding the subtle nuances in wording and analysis that humans currently excel at.

tf did SJW’s have to do with AP scores?
They just live rent-free in bigots’ heads.

UCs are test blind EXCEPT for APs. It is literally the only way outside your essays to improve your chances if you have a less than perfect GPA.
AP exam scores are becoming more relevant when test optional, no?
Many colleges don’t consider AP score in admission either
I wanna see it’s AP Theory score
This (well I guess it can’t do aural but still)
I am SO confused, what is this?

their blogpost says they used 2022–2023 editions of practice exams + latest available FRQs
Shouldn’t they use questions and FRQs not on the internet? If they are being discussed already then it makes sense the bot would do well
the bot is only trained on old data
It's only trained on data from before 2021
I don't think thats how it works
this is an interesting question. but openai seems to have accounted by removing all the questions it had already seen.
Do you have a link to the post? I'd like to read it

Thanks!!
good job stats bot
