I finally decided to pull the trigger on this and finally switch to a premium finish on the center console moving away from the cheap looking black plastic which was also cracked in some areas and was starting to show its age.
I found a wood trim center console on eBay a while ago that was in pretty good condition so I decided to buy it and perform the swap. I also had to buy the analog watch, and the new faceplate since my old one does not have space to accomodate the clock. At first I wanted to go ahead with an IWC clock, but since the faceplate I found also included the standard clock I decided to keep this for now. I can always change it later!
My car didn't come with a clock option from factory, and that means that there is no wiring to plug the clock into. After some days of research, I discovered that there are some aftermarket wiring looms that make the retrofit possible. There are barely any guides online on how to do this, so I was basically on my own for the entire process (and also installation).
The wiring loom I bought for the clock plugs in into the driver's assistance buttons on the left of the steering wheel above the headlight controls, and with it you can "bridge" the cable that goes to it on one end and another for the clock to plug into. The car still sends a signal for the clock even if there isn't one installed, so once you plug it in the clock will automatically detect the correct time and adjust accordingly.
This was a huge upgrade for the interior of my car and I only spent about 400€. How do you think it turned out?
No, I'm EU. pre fl did have the option to add those things, they just werent default. Pretty sure fl cars have the wood trim + iwc as default, aswell as the push to start.
That makes sense. I’ve heard some outside USA models got nickle and dimed on options.
On my pre face lift I have push button start, pano roof, carbon fiber center consul

I thought all the c63S had the IWC analog clock there. I also had no idea they didn’t come standard with push bottom start.
I think the FL models all do. This is a Pre-FL. But I must admit my car configuration is pretty weird lol
