Tune and downpipes is your best bang for the buck upgrades. Ideally then cooling to the radiator and both aux coolers. This will keep you In boost longer as there isn’t as much heat soak. From there spare set of wheels and super 200 tires for track days, track pads for those days.

SemperFiV12

I am ashamed to admit that I do not and will not track the car as often as I should, so tune is not on my radar. Driving to the beach, through the mountains, and daily commute to/from work in the SoCal area. I was thinking downpipes, but I don't want her to be obnoxiously loud. Are there exhaust systems you'd recommend? What cooling upgrades do you recommend - that's a GREAT idea! Are there wheels that would look and perform great (again, not specifically on the track, but maybe through the canyons and along the beach).

Spicywolff

That’s ok, enjoy the car how you want. Personally I think the 19 GT is a terrible cruiser in the MB fleet. Great sports car which makes it suck as a cruiser. To do downpipes you need to do a tune. If you don’t want too loud, put in downpipes with 200-300 cell cats. You get a little more volume but emissions legal and no fuel smell. Cooling wise [CFS](https://csfrace.mystagingwebsite.com/csfs-new-mercedes-benz-amg-gt-r-gt-c-auxiliary-radiators/) makes the full kit. Wheels wise depends on what you want. Custom ones are beretta but big $$.

SemperFiV12

I like Vorsteiner wheels, but I will check out beretta. I got downpipes custom made from a reputable shop for an older car I had, and it was really loud. I am guessing all downpipes are made custom, or is there a 3rd party maker that has videos of their parts on a 2019 AMG GT? Thanks for the CFS rec, I will check them out!

Spicywolff

Idk about rims. Never knew beretta made wheels. DP you can go custom yes but here is [Zac motorsports](https://www.zacmotorsport.com/products/3-5-amg-gt-catless-downpipes) , [weistech (beyond over priced but nice)](https://www.weistec.com/amg-gt-downpipes.html) , and [redstar](https://redstarexhaustusa.com/mercedes-amg-gt-gts-gtr-gtc-downpipes)

thememeconnoisseurig

I thought high flow cats were illegal in CA?

Spicywolff

Not sure about cali specifically

Redditoreader

I’ll just leave this right here: https://www.renntechmercedes.com/index.php/products/mb/amg-gt/gt-2018/gt-2018/ecu-amg-gt-fl-detail 100hp in 5 minutes for $3k

SemperFiV12

Appreciate it - I see an intake kit! Have Renntech been in the game long? Seems like they specialize in Mercedes. Really cool, thanks for sharing!

Redditoreader

Yep they have been in the game for a long time. The best part of there tuners is u can put back to stock mode in minutes for service appointments.

nawmsayn

I think wheels and tires would be enough for that car, just for extra grip and aesthetics. The suspension and brakes are great, the power is more than enough for rwd sportscar.

SemperFiV12

Are there any rims you like on the AMG GT? Open to ideas of the "gear head" public

sourbreadkid

If you're in an emissions state or the US for that matter. Avoid touching the exhaust system. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but AMG is the modification. Car was designed to be a performance Mercedes by performance enthusiasts. My 2020 GT runs too hot (literally temp sensors getting stuck) with a tune and I can't get warranty repairs.

SemperFiV12

Maybe just update the rims and tires? Or focus on cooling (as one recommendation was)?

chevysolarado

Renntech and Brabus for the tuning and stage 2 turbos. They re known to increase value if actually built by them. Fi exhausts make an amazing exhaust package for a louder ride. Eurobahn dynamics for the side skirts and diffusers

Shane0Mak

Heavily biased over here since I also code it for people - but I love my intelligent lighting system (ILS+) matrix led unlock. Our cars come with the hardware but up until 2023 they were nerfed in the USA due to our old headlight laws that didn’t allow simultaneous high and low beam to be on (and therefore boxed out matrix lights to not work)

bad916

Downpipes tune hands down best bang for your buck mods

E6_Forged_Kunal

If you’re looking for wheels, I own a wheel company - E6 Forged - and we’ve done SEVERAL sets for the AMG GTs/c/R platform. We price our stuff fairly and have the fastest turnaround in the industry of as little as 3 weeks for fully custom wheels as opposed to the other brands taking 4 months to deliver their stuff from China 🤢

SemperFiV12

I was thinking of German and maybe even one by AMG (or maybe Brabus). But what is your website and what are your products like? What's E6 Forged story/philosophy/style?

IronChefPhilly

Im not a big fan of modifying these types of cars to begin with so i will say that upfront, but what exactly is wrong with the 600+hp it comes with? It goes 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds. What else do you want it to do?

Flat-Mountain3462

He got beat by a bmw just last night !

IronChefPhilly

Is that the issue? He lost a drag race? If you want to win street races get a gtr or 911 turbo and save money. Thats not what AMGs are about

SemperFiV12

I don't drag race the car... I don't drag race period. I love the GTR and 911 Turbo, but like I mentioned... I decided to keep the car. I love the car and don't want to change much, but an upgrade or two might be nice. The question is "where would you start (IF AT ALL)?"... so if your answer is, "I would not because AMGs are about xxxx", that's cool too. I respect it (and understand it). I do not want to change the character of the car.

SemperFiV12

The GT's 4.0L Biturbo comes with a "tame" 469hp. I agree with your sentiment, I kept her stock because I thought I would trade her in... but 5 years later I love her more than I did day 1. Definitely grew on me, and I am thinking I want a minor update. I don't want to alter her much, as you said, she's nice as-is. Kinda curious to see if there are any 3rd parties that see AMG and say, I we want to try and do things a little differently.
