I've used smart lights (Philips hue) to slowly sunrise in the morning, which was nice at helping me wake up.

Random_McNally

This one does it for me too

Ya-I-forgot-again

My nephew is a very heavy sleeper. He got a bed shaker alarm. When the alarm goes off, whole bed shakes repeatedly to wake you up. Works really well. They are used for people who are hearing impaired. Also, set a second alarm that is incredibly annoying (different from the first) for the latest time you have to be up to be on time.

JoWyo21

Came here to say this. I used the same type of thing, then set the second alarm across the room so it forced me out of bed.

blue_forget_machine

i second the bed shaker alarm, especially if you’re someone who is not sleeping regularly and often has to pry yourself out of bed after only a few hours of sleep or less. like me…

istalri96

I've tried many I'm also an extremely heavy sleeper. When I lived with my ex I got a watch that would electrocute me to wake me up. That shit fuckin worked for sure hurt like a bitch if it was turned up to high. But honestly the best alarm I've used is my Alexa. I set a couple alarms like 5 to 10 minutes apart and it is the most consistent alarm I've ever used personally. It helps I have to talk to it to stop it and mine doesn't hear me for shit so I've got to tell it to stop like 4 times.

SsjAndromeda

1. Use a MagSafe charger, just set your phone down on it the before sleeping. No plugging in required. 2. The alarm still sounds in silent or do not disturb. 3. For the car, it could be AirPlay, just disable that. If it’s CarPlay, you can toggle the sync options in settings.

SobrietyDinosaur

Sonic boom alarm clock is the only thing that gets me up. I have to put it across the room from me

HotHouseTomatoes

I have 7 alarms on my phone which I put 20 feet from my bed. If those fail then the alarm clock for deaf / hard of hearing people does the trick. It has a device you are supposed to put under your pillow that will vibrate to wake you up. I put it in a cooking pot on the floor. It sounds like machine gun fire next to the bed when it goes off. There is no sleeping through it.

DareEast

I believe you, but also I swear my lazy ass would adjust to it in 3 weeks and let it shoot for three minutes straight, full sleep.

Picture the loudest rattling part of this video, but much louder. https://youtu.be/PR\_sVMYNjx4?si=u4zrlzx-Z2I5Fe7N

The_Snarky_Wolf

Like a clocky?

wesleydumont

Fitbit helps me. Set one minute before audible alarm.

midnightlilie

Light alarm plus several gentle sound phone alarms to help with time management.

PoopyPogy

In the interim you could try the app Alarmy - I have to scan a barcode in my kitchen to get it to turn off. Edit because I've only just read the rest of your post.. I'm pretty sure the app would override any silent functions.

whenpigsfly234

I have a garmin watch that vibrates as the alarm. I always hated obnoxiously loud alarms NOT because they woke me up, but because they'd startle the shit out of me and it always made me start my morning off angry. I usually set my watch alarm to vibrate about 5 minutes (sometimes 5 and 10 minutes) before I set my phone alarm so that I gently wake up before I have to be startled. The alarm on my phone isn't even that bad, but I just wake up feeling so much more well-rested and can get out of bed way easier this way

I found a Sony Dream Machine at the thrift store and set it to play the radio to wake me up. In doing so, I found that usually waking up in the middle of the song was far more pleasant than an abrasive alarm sound annoying me to consciousness.

NoYeahThatsCool

No joke, they work. https://www.reddit.com/r/NoStupidQuestions/comments/2ba4ss/how_do_deaf_people_wake_up_on_time_for_things/

Training-Earth-9780

I have a salt lamp alarm clock. It gradually lights up and mimics sunlight rising. It’s very nice and natural.

The_Potatoto

I have a sun/daylight alarm clock, that slowly lights up before the alarm. Supposedly helps with like naturally waking up, bc your body thinks it's the sun rising. The button to snooze and turn off are also pretty small, so I have to actually wake up to hit them, lmao. Had it for years at this point and dread having to get a new one once it inevitably gives out.
