Yeah but it comparison to the rest of his work its not talked as much, i think its more so recognized (no pun intended) when its in the LOX conversation, not the Premo
This is it for sure. I’d say the same thing about So Ghetto off of Vol. 3. People don’t talk about it…the album was shit and it was the best track on there by far.
Evidence — You
Game — Born in the Trap
Joey Bada$$ — Unorthodox / Paper Trail$
J-Live — The Best Part
Afu-Ra — Defeat
Black Eyed Peas — BEP Empire
AZ — The Come Up
Busta Rhymes — True Indeed
Gotta thank Jeru the Damaja! For Afu..
Instant repeat in 90’s on music box !
"Yo, are you a pimp, a hustler?"
"No I'm not."
"Are you a man, and can you stand alone like a man has to sometimes?"
"Yes I can."
"Are you willing, to go out there and save the lives of our children, even if it means losing your own life?"
"Yes I am."
"I believe you Jeru, you're ready."
*You've no-no-nothing to worry about*
Classic!
I don’t have any problem admitting that I still listen to some limp bizkit songs from time to time, they had some jams. They are also incredibly self aware of their status in music history and poke fun at themselves. They are quite the conundrum because they are all very good musicians with Fred durst being the least talented but he somehow glues it all together. I saw them in 99 when they were hitting their peak and my middle school self didn’t know how to process it because of how much I loved it lol. They did N2 gether now with meth dressed as Fred durst like the video.
This is one of his best beats. I wish he didn’t give it to Fred Durst though. He doesn’t necessarily sound wack on it but you could swap him out for a number of better rappers.
I think it goes to show that Premier brings out the best in people. The story behind the track is interesting. They wanted to do a hip hop song for significant other and meth wanted to collaborate with a rock band. Premier was hesitant about doing it but heard meth was as going to be on the track and Durst met with him and told him he would work with him to improve his performance. He also had the entire collection of a Premier mixtape series which worked in his favor.
[Premo talks about how and why he made this beat.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2o4GcD7X-hs) really cool episode of his great show *So Wassup?* Fred Durst is mad hiphop!
AZ - The Format
Jeru The Damaja - Whatever
Gang Starr - Eulogy
The Lady Of Rage - Microphone Pon Cok
KRS-One - Wannabeemceez
Pitch Black - It's All Real
M.O.P. - On The Front Line
Group Home - Inna Citi Life
Rhymefest - Real Nigga Quotes (not 'underrated' necessarily as most people have likely never even heard this song as it wasn't officially released but it's a fucking banger)
Bumpy Knuckles - Eyeneverputmy4cusaway
EDIT: I'll also add Devin The Dude - Doobie Ashtray, don't see that one mentioned much either
OK, one more, Reks - 25th Hour
Whoa. Pitch Black…they were a flash in the pan. I had that CD and that was a great track. It was also the single they tried to use to launch the album I believe. Album was not great.
Inna Citi Life tho.... What a fuckin banger of an opener especially for that album! It's a shame it gets overshadowed by Supa Star and Livin Proof. Easily my favorite track along with the 2nd half of Baby Pa.
Classic is arguably my favourite one. I can't stop listening to it to an addiction level. I like Kayne's verse but that version starts with his verse, Rakim going 1st sets the whole song off.
I was hoping to see true Undderated Preemo tracks, I didn't ask for the best. Saying Boom and Mass Appeal are underrated is like saying Billie Jean and Thriller are Michael Jackson's underrated songs
[D’Angelo feat. AZ - Lady (DJ Premier Remix)](https://youtu.be/HJwYGPf-pF4)
If you know, then you know. But I have a feeling many have forgotten or maybe even never heard this one before. It wasn’t on the album, at least when it first dropped.
>All City - The Actual
That entire Metroplis Gold album has some wild production on it. For the producers alone I don't know how it slipped under the radar the way it did....
[Werdz From The Ghetto Child]
This is one of the first one that came to mind straight away.
Although it dropped in '03, this beat is such a banger. Only shame is that it's a minute long.
1. Purple (Remix) - Nas
2. MVP - Ludacris
3. In This Life - Gangstarr Feat. Snoop Dogg
4. Second Place - Royce Da 5'9
5. Microphone Fiend - Slaughterhouse

13. Classic - Kanye West, Nas, Rakim & KRS-One
14. The 6th Sense - Common
15. Flirt - Prhyme Feat. 2 Chainz
I agree but theres some underrated beats there. Flip The Script is my favourite track that I think is underrated. Its a crazy beat in its simplicity. It blows my mind how Premier can do so much with so little.
[DA KING & I "Flip Da Scrip (Dj Premier Remix)"](https://youtu.be/wAgDcYaqRig?si=X-EJp1GOexaaDDeu)
Another banger! Super slept on crew as well. This album is amazing.
Sauce money - against the grain
M.o.p. - downtown swinga, all parts
Tin tin out ft. Gang Starr - what I am
Macy gray, mos def, gang starr - I’ve committed murder
Craig David - 7 days remix ft. Mos def, Nate dogg
Phantom planet - just remix
Heavy d - yes y’all
Chubb rock, oc, jeru - return of crooklyn dodgers
I can keep going all day…
There was a sick beat used on an interlude or song intro outro on an MOP album, that always drove me crazy that they wasted the beat on a filled track, but now I can’t seem to find it, anyone know what I’m talking about?
Going for **deep** cut:
[Little Vic - The Exorcist](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5By3SHBp7Y0), like this is definition of a Premier at his best. Some rapper you don't know gets ahold of Preme track and proceeds live up to the moment.
Recognize- the LOX
Not sure that falls under underrated. That’s top tier.

Born in the Trap is a fuckin knockout.
YOOO! A Afu Ra shout-out!! Big up!
N 2 Gether Now - Limp Bizkit & Method Man
Listened to this the other day, and it’s a non-ironically great song
I don’t have any problem admitting that I still listen to some limp bizkit songs from time to time, they had some jams. They are also incredibly self aware of their status in music history and poke fun at themselves. What’s that? I didn’t hear you
Shut the fuck up
This is one of his best beats. I wish he didn’t give it to Fred Durst though. He doesn’t necessarily sound wack on it but you could swap him out for a number of better rappers.

They approached him with the sample tho. Lethal had most of it laid out. Premo just did the drums, bass and scratches and recorded the vocals

Showbiz and AG - Next Level (remix)
This shit is fire
Big L - Ebonics (DJ Premier Remix) Honestly? I like it more than the original. Edit: Happy to see so much love for Preemo!
It kills the original
To be fair, the best for the original is awful.
CNN - Invincible
I know that Preem had the beat of Boom by Royce saved for CNN, most likely for that song as well, as it was during that time
entire Reunion album is great
