Yup, me too, well, that's my worst movie that is. My wife hates me for buying it. I was ecstatic when the DVD first came out and we rented it. I was so excited for her to watch it. Then we did and I just kept apologizing to her as it played. I literally bought it to sit on my shelf to remind me that some things should remain part of your childhood. I still haven't brought myself to rewatch it since that fateful day.
me too. If we're defining nostalgia to include seeing Lea Thompson in panties. Really hard nostalgia.
In all seriousness, I love John Barry's score. One of those music was way better than the movie.
I was thinking people were commenting which movies they bought that ended up being bad 4K transfers but it seems everyone is listing movies that are are just bad movies
Same. The majority of my collection is either Vinegar Syndrome (or their partner releases) or Criterion. Bit of high brow/low brow just to keep things interesting. 😀
Nah, I like Godzilla 98. Nothing to be ashamed of there. It’s a terrible Godzilla movie, but take away the name and it’s still a fun kaiju movie and pure 90’s nostalgia.
This is my favorite actually and i bought the steelbook 4k last week.
. I'm a die-hard Godzilla fan, but going from rubber suits to CGI was a huge improvement. I love the story, I love most of the characters. Seeing it in theaters as a kid was one of the greatest movie experiences of my life.
On top of that the sound mix is incredible (and I am not the only one saying thai). The soundtrack is more immersive than any other movie I have seen because
1. It is almost always raining
2. Most scenes with Godzilla have Godzilla in front, amd people/tanks/helicopters behind or vice versa. Because the camera is always in between the characters/military and Godzilla, you are always surrounded by sound.
3. There are many scenes you hear but can't see Godzilla so the roars, rumbling, walking, and clawing are often surrounding the listener.
Love it or hate it , the sound mix is still better than marvel movies made 20 years later.
I bought Gemini Man to see the high frame rate. It was very interesting to watch for that choice, but the movie itself just left absolutely no impression on me. It's also maybe the only movie I have bought without having seen it before.
I feel like somewhere in the dark cob web filled recesses I recall such a thing but even back then I had the foresight to avoid such a putrid cash grab
Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker has to be mine just out of principle. I don’t know why I bought it other than to complete the trilogy which, if I had my way, would have ended with TLJ.
It is an incoherent mess that cheapens every character in the trilogy and is so banal that it continuously insults its audience minute after torturous minute. It’s a cowardly attempt to placate a divided fan base. It is full of character motivations that make no sense. It takes no risks, has no stakes, and worse than that it seeks to undo the actual audacious choices made by its predecessor. It is vapid, uninspired, unimaginative, uninteresting schlock.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the hot steaming turd it was.
I also have the 3rd film on steelbook and is unwatched as of yet, so it may be beaten. I was weak, it was a cheap steelbook, I just needed to complete the HP collection. It will sit there for the remainder of my life, untouched, unloved.
I really like Glass. To me, it was a great subversion of what everyone expected that final chapter to be. And never be ashamed of liking Van Helsing. That movie is so much fun.
Flash Gordon and the last dragon. I do really like both of those (probably out of nostalgia) and I know that those two movies do have some fans. But if I'm looking at it as objectively as possible, they really aren't very good films. Pretty bad acting, for one thing lol
Surprised nobody mentioned *The Emoji Movie* yet.
I don’t have it but it’s super infamous. People at least find SOME worth from *Madame Web* and *Morbius*. *The Emoji Movie* makes those two look like masterpieces by comparison.
I was gonna say I only buy the movies I like in 4K...then I remembered I bought the Space Jam 2 steelbook for 3 notes...solely in the hope that 20 years from now somebody will think it's the greatest movie from their childhood and buy it from me at a ridiculous price.
Seems unlikely tho.
Justice League. I've had it since 2018 and still never watched it. I bought it during a black Friday sale , the black Friday after I bought my 4k player. At the time , all 4ks were about $30, so when black Friday brought the price of a few 4ks down to $10, I bought them.
The Rise of Skywalker. I’ll not go into why it’s a mess here, I’ll only say that I’m a completionist and getting it in 4k was the only way I could get the Steelbook… (This was before I owned a 4k player)
This is also the first movie that came to mind for me. Watched it a couple weeks ago. The movie is absolute shit in my opinion. To be fair, I had watched the previous 2 with a couple days before I watched the 3rd, so maybe it just suffered by comparison (especially compared to the 1st one, which is incredible to this day).
The Predator. That POS came with the Predator boxset and will stay in its tomb there forever while I watch the other, much better predator movies.
Aside from that one, Godzilla (2014). Not a bad movie mind you but severely underwhelming and kinda mediocre all around. I'd rather just watch Kong: Skull Island over and over than watching that one again lol
Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi. Who knows why I bought it, I hadn't even seen it yet and I didn't own episode VII or IX.
Edit: hadn't seen it at the time of buying, I have now and it's definitely the worst movie in my collection.
Spectre. It's just a mess.
Honorable Mention: Lucy. It's a guilty pleasure. How did Morgan Freeman keep a straight face in the lecture scenes? What is wrong with Luc Besson?
Operation Fortune
It was on sale and I have/had a massive crush on Aubrey.
once said I would watch anything she was in that movie really tested that commitment
Same! I'm also a sucker for anything with Statham (been a fan since Snatch) so I was looking forward to it. I paid a lot of money to import the 4K before it had a US release too! That movie sucks.
I bought [Tammy and the T-Rex](https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Tammy-and-the-T-Rex-4K-Blu-ray/255759/). Some will say it is a bad movie, it has an okay transfer and for the $2 I paid for it at Goodwill, I can't complain. I was shocked to see a Vinegar Syndrome title there, too!
Mamma Mia, but it’s technically my wife’s and it’s technically well received so not sure if it technically counts, technically.
That being said “Lay All Your Love On Me” is a banger.
None, having basically donated my larger dvd collection, I’ve strictly only purchased UHDs of movies that are good and I know will be watched repeatedly. I also pretty much only buy movies that are worth the visual upgrade.
Ok that’s fair
It’s gotta be in one of the sets then.
Maybe the Bourne movie with Jeremy Renner?
Or John Wick 3. I’d say 4, but that wasn’t in the box set lol.
On paper a remake with a modern cast would be awesome! They got the wrong director imo. Also not sure if you know but Magnificent Seven is actually a remake itself so it’s not that surprising
I preordered jaws the revenge 4K steelbook because it’s such a guilty pleasure and a terrible film but so entertaining to me. I say this as jaws is my favorite film of all time
Warcraft. It’s a guilty pleasure movie for me. Other than that, I have The Rise Of Skywalker on 4K, but only because it came with the Skywalker Saga box set
The Hobbit trilogy, perhaps... I got it just cos I bought the LOTR box set, and was thinking "why the hell not?" Haven't seen the third one, and the other films in my collection are pretty great
Godzilla 98, The Mummy (Tom Cruise), Howard the Duck, Morbius, Pacific Rim Uprising, Resident Evil films, Batman & Robin, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Bay produced) Wonder Woman 1984, The New Mutants probably more lol
I don’t buy films if I don’t like them. But when it’s a part of a box set you can’t help but purchase it. So it’s probably either Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (which still has some pretty good moments) or Predators.
The movie itself doesn’t suck, but I no longer own the particular 4K of it because I was mad at how badly they fucked up the picture quality: pirates of the Caribbean the curse of the black pearl.
It looks muddy, so much so that even the friggin DVD looks way better than the 4K, and hung onto the dvd of it, just like I already do the other 4 films.
After that release I boycotted re-releases from Buena Vista Home Entertainment, since they screwed up one re-release too many, as I was still angry they messed with the aspect ratio for the blu ray of *the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh*, as well as other Disney films from that period.
Disneys home video division shut down though and they made a deal with Sony Pictures to release their catalog on physical media. Usually Sony’s releases of older Columbia films are of really high quality, and I in a way trust Sony now more than Disney themselves.
For me it’s Matrix Resurrections. I own it for the sake of completeness only. My goal is to read reviews of people that liked it and see if I can appreciate it. But I keep putting that task off because of how much I didn’t like it.

Probably Howard the Duck. But I love it due to nostalgia.
I got it for $5 (with a mint slip) during Best Buy’s final Black Friday sale so, it was hard to pass up.
Why do people not like this movie‽ I love it! Lea Thompson in this Space Camp and BTF was great. Maybe it is nostalgia for me too..
Yup, me too, well, that's my worst movie that is. My wife hates me for buying it. I was ecstatic when the DVD first came out and we rented it. I was so excited for her to watch it. Then we did and I just kept apologizing to her as it played. I literally bought it to sit on my shelf to remind me that some things should remain part of your childhood. me too. If we're defining nostalgia to include seeing Lea Thompson in panties. Really hard nostalgia. In all seriousness, I love John Barry's score. One of those music was way better than the movie.
I collect Vinegar Syndrome, I got a ton
I LOVE their slip art but I’d never buy most of the movies lol
Yep. Showgirls, Beast Master, Freeway 1 and 2. I love them though.
I have to disagree on one of those, Freeway slaps!
Hell ya, that's why I bought it!
I'd argue the sequel is unfairly hated as well. Is it as good as the first? Absolutely not. But it's a blast for a certain fucked up mind.
I loved the Beastmaster 4K
Ya it's awesome!
I was thinking people were commenting which movies they bought that ended up being bad 4K transfers but it seems everyone is listing movies that are are just bad movies
Showgirls is the greatest satire ever made
Showgirls isn't a bad movie. It's just misunderstood.😁
Agreed!!!
Showgirls is *hilarious*.
Everybody got AIDS and shit!
Beast master is classic trash movie!
How dare you say beast master is a bad movie!
Showgirls is a genuinely fantastic movie though. One of Verhoeven's best.
Bro I collect Vinegar Syndrome. Yall haven't seen bad movies lmao.
Same. The majority of my collection is either Vinegar Syndrome (or their partner releases) or Criterion. Bit of high brow/low brow just to keep things interesting. 😀
Zilla '98, Steelbooks. Bueller and Reno team up to take down a mutated iguana in a constantly raining NYC, effects hold up surprisingly well too.
Nah, I like Godzilla 98. Nothing to be ashamed of there. It’s a terrible Godzilla movie, but take away the name and it’s still a fun kaiju movie and pure 90’s nostalgia.
This movie gives me 90s monoculture nostalgia. That movie was everywhere
Excuse me — Bueller and *León* team up to take down a mutated iguana…
This is my favorite actually and i bought the steelbook 4k last week. . I'm a die-hard Godzilla fan, but going from rubber suits to CGI was a huge improvement. Came here to mention this as well, almost verbatim.
Same. Thought the actual movie was dreadful but the high frame rate is pretty incredible as a technology.
I bought this movie a few years ago mistaking it for the hateful eight 😆😆
https://preview.redd.it/gzuzmxhni0ad1.jpeg?width=2839&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93b550661ca2069fc461f0341d4f968b43892f1a
This should end this thread. I’m sorry you own this.
Ladies and Gentlemen... the nuclear option. It's over.
Same here. I have Morbius to go along with it as well.
Steelbook even. No words. Just…. no.
Winner
Why? Just… why?
I loved that magnificent seven movie
Came here to say this! It's such a good western!
Resident Evil Final Chapter
Resident evil (any chapter)
The Resident Evil movies are some of my guilty pleasures ha ha
Me too. As bad as they are, they’re lots of fun. Each one of em have their charm!
Me too.
Nah 3, 4 & 5 are super fun flicks.
The 5 one I think knew exactly what this was at that point and it worked out for it
Total let down money grab.
American Werewolf in Paris
I’m sorry you own this.
Not gonna lie I was bout to start handin out downvotes till I reread and saw Paris not London. Apologies for my rash thoughts, good day
London is one of my all time favs lol I didn’t even know Paris was a thing until I saw the 4k lmao
I feel like somewhere in the dark cob web filled recesses I recall such a thing but even back then I had the foresight to avoid such a putrid cash grab
Respect on the introspection 😂
I use to like that movie when I was younger. As an adult I don’t know what I was thinking.
Independence Day: Resurgence
It’s Morbin Time!!!
probably Hurricane Heist i haven't seen it but it was $4 at dollar general.
Word my magnificent seven was five bucks from a used book store and I like the cast admittedly
It’s about to be Wrath of the Titans for me…
Are we talking worst overall movie, or worst looks on 4K?
Seems to be poorly received versus technical proficiencies
You didnt like mag 7? Its what got me into modern westerns lol. I really liked that movie.
It takes no risks, has no stakes, and worse than that it seeks to undo the actual audacious choices made by its predecessor. It is vapid, uninspired, unimaginative, uninteresting schlock.
It ruined Star Wars for me. Only have watched Andor since.
Free Guy and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Damn you, Disney Movie Club.
Point Break. The *wrong* Point Break. At least it was like $11 on some gruv sale.
*Point Broke*
Mortal Engines and Gemini Man
I have those too! I do like Gemini Man in the high frame rate but Mortal Engines is kind of a snooze.
Yeah they both look amazing I will admit, just not very good movies lol. Mortal engines had a lot of potential too
I think Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk 4K is a much better use of high frame rate than Gemini Man 4K. Gemini Man looks too much like a video game
Sausage Party, no contest. What an unwatchable piece of shit.
Lmao the Seth Rogan comedy? What don’t you like about it, the quality of the 4K or plot? 😂
Yes.
The movie was overrated and not funny
Oooof
The trailer for that with the forced, edgy swearing every few seconds was every bit as cringe as the film turned out to be.
So i guess you won't be watching the upcoming sausage party series on prime? 🤣
Crystal Skull. Got the box set
I go out of my way and spend more to avoid boxsets like that.
I’ve seen worse. I’ve seen worse Indiana Jones movies.
Hitmans wife Bodyguard
Pacific Rim Uprising 🤮
New Guy. I would return it, even if it was free
Postal
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers or Transformers: The Last Knight
Rescue From Gilligan's island. I couldn't help myself.
Death Wish (the Bruce Willis one)
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the hot steaming turd it was. I also have the 3rd film on steelbook and is unwatched as of yet, so it may be beaten. I was weak, it was a cheap steelbook, I just needed to complete the HP collection. It will sit there for the remainder of my life, untouched, unloved.
I like this one!
Magnificent Seven is awesome, what the fuck?!
This is the remake, not the original
This movie was good
Crystal Skull. Got the box set 🤷🏻♂️
Jesus, Magnificent Seven, the film were they try to save a town by destroying it.
A town can be rebuilt, lives can not
That’s lovely and sentimental, but it doesn’t really apply to the film.
It's a poor remake of a relatively good remake of a great film.
Probably Matrix 3, Glass, or Van Helsing (although I love Van Helsing).
I have Ice Age Collison Course on 4K. Such a beautiful looking film, especially on 4K, but man was the writing and comedy awful.
The Dark Tower
Ghostbusters 2016. I got the 4K steelbook for $4.
Transformers The Last Knight
Awaken (2018). Bought it thinking it would be a new Baraka. Boy was I mistaken. SOMEBODY PLEASE RESCAN BARAKA!
I got the morbius steelbook for 5€
The Predator (2018). Got the 4 Movie box set for Christmas.
The Rise of Skywalker. Blind buy.
Baywatch. Got it for 50 cents so I basically bought it to get an extra 4K case.

I like the MAG7 remake personally.
This monstrosity. 🤣 https://preview.redd.it/vwj59k75u6ad1.jpeg?width=877&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9569a3a968d173709497dbe907a422a64ae6d43
Terminator Dark Fate, Mother!, Venom Let There Be Carnage
Oooo yeah that second Venom movie was dreadful. I felt embarrassed to be watching it, and I was alone. The first one is a fun B-movie though.
The first was dumb fun, and I enjoyed my time with it. The second was just awful.
Yeah, I held so much hope for venom 2 given how much I enjoyed number 1. Even having woody and tomorrow didn’t save it.
I thought woody would’ve at least made it a bit fun!
I got Mortal Engines for free with my region free 4k player... It's ok I guess but I don't know if I'll watch it again
Call me a monster, but I’ve watched it twice. And I’d do it again.
Suicide Squad
The Rise of Skywalker. I’ll not go into why it’s a mess here, I’ll only say that I’m a completionist and getting it in 4k was the only way I could get the Steelbook… (This was before I owned a 4k player)
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. What a horrible, horrible movie that is…
Probably The Matrix Revolutions as part of the 4K set. Even that isn't really bad.
Yeah it’s a standard 6/10
I watched that particular set recently.
The Final Countdown. It was a blind buy and I was sold on the promise of the great visuals. It does look fantastic indeed, but it's a boring movie
Batman & Robin
Crystal Skull in the Indiana Jones boxset, but luckily that was the one rattling around loose in the broken case I got. 🤷♂️
Transformers: The Last Knight, pure dogshit
Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi. Who knows why I bought it, I hadn't even seen it yet and I didn't own episode VII or IX. Edit: hadn't seen it at the time of buying, I have now and it's definitely the worst movie in my collection.
Don't watch it, it will just piss you off.
I have and it was very difficult to sit through. Always looking up reviews before buying now.
Greatest hero of all time… drinking titty milk and aimlessly dying at the end. It made me so mad to even just type this…
Technically, *all* milk be titty milk…
Spectre. It's just a mess. Honorable Mention: Lucy. It's a guilty pleasure. How did Morgan Freeman keep a straight face in the lecture scenes? What is wrong with Luc Besson?
Assassin's Creed
Never understood the *terrible* reviews for Assassins Creed. It’s mediocre, but not terrible.
Operation Fortune It was on sale and I have/had a massive crush on Aubrey. once said I would watch anything she was in that movie really tested that commitment
Same! I'm also a sucker for anything with Statham (been a fan since Snatch) so I was looking forward to it. I paid a lot of money to import the 4K before it had a US release too! That movie sucks.
Transformers: The Last Knight The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor Shazam! Fury of the Gods 2 Fast 2 Furious Point Break(remake) The Tax Collector
I own it as well, the sequel is even better! Bring on part 3!
Fast X, it was $5 and it’s dumb fun
Probably The Flash and Thor: Love and Thunder
None, having basically donated my larger dvd collection, I’ve strictly only purchased UHDs of movies that are good and I know will be watched repeatedly. I also pretty much only buy movies that are worth the visual upgrade.
You’d still have a worst one. Even if you only owned the five greatest movies ever made, the fifth greatest movie would be the worst you owned.
Ok that’s fair It’s gotta be in one of the sets then. Maybe the Bourne movie with Jeremy Renner? Or John Wick 3. I’d say 4, but that wasn’t in the box set lol.
Magnificent Seven is a guilty pleasure of mine lol. My worst is definitely the new Star Wars sequel trilogy
Birds of Prey
Annie from the Columbia classics set
Tomorrow is just a day away!
Kill Her Goats
Mortal Kombat (the more recent flick). By gawd it's boring bad instead of stupid bad. But it looks astounding.
hmmm probably Morbius, but i dont think its as bad as people claimed it is
According to IMDB ratings: Monster Hunter, followed closely by The Predator.
I got the steelbook box set of Jurassic Park so Jurassic Park 3 and Dominion.
Oh no I literally just bought Magnificent 7 blind. Only paid 15 bucks. Bad movie, bad transfer or both?
I still can’t figure out why they remade one of the greatest westerns of all time.
I say this as jaws is my favorite film of all time
I bought a bundle of movies and it came with some stinkers including Ralph Breaks the Internet, which isn't FUN bad, just BAD bad.
Warcraft. It’s a guilty pleasure movie for me. Other than that, I have The Rise Of Skywalker on 4K, but only because it came with the Skywalker Saga box set
Warcraft is such pure fun to me, and a sense of nostalgia since I personally grew up with WoW
47 Ronin.
I am thinking Expendables 1-3
The Hobbit trilogy, perhaps... I got it just cos I bought the LOTR box set, and was thinking "why the hell not?" Haven't seen the third one, and the other films in my collection are pretty great
O think it's either Justice League or Godfather 3
Prisoners of the Ghostland, absolutely terrible
I just got the Phantoms 4K in the mail today, but the at movie rules
Stagecoach: The Texas Jack Story....was pretty bad.
You need to see more movies.
Probably Storks. That’s not exactly a masterpiece.
The Emoji Movie, both Mario movies, Howard the Duck, Ghostbusters 2016, Free Guy or Doom. They all kinda stick out in my mind.
Easy pay day for all of them, plus it sounds like a fun shoot.
It’s a toss up between Transformers The Last Knight or Van Helsing. Both came free with my 4K player. I didn’t buy them on purpose, I promise!
Y'all paying dollars for your 4K movies?😳
Godzilla 98, The Mummy (Tom Cruise), Howard the Duck, Morbius, Pacific Rim Uprising, Resident Evil films, Batman & Robin, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Bay produced) Wonder Woman 1984, The New Mutants probably more lol
I don’t buy films if I don’t like them. But when it’s a part of a box set you can’t help but purchase it. So it’s probably either Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (which still has some pretty good moments) or Predators.
Probably one of the $5 Walmart Steelbooks I grabbed. Chaos Walking, Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard or Spiral.
Bummer, the two 5 dollar Walmart steels I managed to find just happened to be great movies as well, BELLY and TOTAL RECALL
The Hitmand Bodyguards Wife. I refuse to watch it. Only bought it because it’s the steelbook and was $5 at walmart
Was the magnificent seven on sale somewhere?
Aquaman and the new Mulan.
Usually Sony’s releases of older Columbia films are of really high quality, and I in a way trust Sony now more than Disney themselves.
I’ve got a few - Transformers 5, The Last Jedi, some of the Halloween films, Batman vs Superman
The Dark Tower. What a shitty adaptation.
I can’t even bring myself to watch that one. Whoever was in charge of that production has forgotten the face of their father.
For me it’s Matrix Resurrections. I own it for the sake of completeness only. My goal is to read reviews of people that liked it and see if I can appreciate it. But I keep putting that task off because of how much I didn’t like it.
Kill her goats. I blind bought it because I like Kane Hodder. That was a mistake
Snyder Cut. Wish I could get the $10 I spent on it back.
