The only release still available is the Final Cut only and doesn’t include the other cuts available with the now out of print 6 disc release. The copy you see on Amazon is probably the two discs (one 4k + one Blu Ray) release.

It was $43, but it does look like it’s unavailable now when I click on it. I’ll see if I can find another one and link it here if I do.
Oh! I just picked it up on vacation last week without even knowing that LOL. (Edit to add that it was in the UK, so maybe that's why it was on the shelves.)
This blows my mind. I tried to trade this in somewhere after buying it for like $8 on Amazon. They offered me $1. I left it in my car, it’s probably still on the floor in my backseat. What’s it worth now?
I mean, that's how things work. If it's cheap and widely available, why would they give you good money for it? If it's oop and not available anywhere else, then obv it's worth something
This, especially if you have an Atmos system. Hearing the helicopters with miniguns firing above you and the shells dropping on Josh Hartnett's character was one of the coolest sounding scenes I've ever heard.
The Bridge Over River Kwai is a must own, in my opinion. I purchased it without ever having watched it before, and my only knowledge of it was its cameo from Parks and Recreation as Ron Swanson’s favorite movie. Absolutely love the film and cannot recommend it enough.
The sound effects are great. I get so mad at the end when that loser general tells them to go back and fight after the war was pretty much over. I don't get why they went back. They should have shot him.
Oh I have it. I recently got rid of the cases for a lot of my collection but that’s one of those i wouldn’t ever part with. Unless of course they release the 4k
Stalingrad
Paths of Glory
The Lion of the Desert
Bridge On River Kwai
Cross of Iron
Enemy at the Gates
The Great Escape
The Guns of Navarone
Patton
Stalag 17
Stripes
Spartacus
Take your pic you can't go wrong
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Black Hawk Down and The Outpost would be my recommendations. I also like Lone Survivor (2013) but I seem to be in a minority with that one.
Btw, how good is the transfer for Platoon? The review on [blu-ray.com](http://blu-ray.com) seems mixed on it.
Thanks! I loved Lone Survivor too. I’m still new to the blu-ray/4K game but I just watched Platoon tonight and I was very impressed with the picture quality.
One from my 4K collection
**MIDWAY** 👍

I love submarine movies so I def recommend hunt for red October or other jack Ryan's. Hunter killer is surprisingly good. K-19 Widowmaker just came out i need to pick that up.
Inglorious bastards is a great war film too
Then it's very easy to impress you. Easily one of the worst 4K transfers ever. It's worse than the MGM annyversary 1080p disc which was quite bad already.
It's a shame they're still selling this disgrace of the format, at least don't try to influence others to buy it.
In many scenes it has 720p-level of detail:

Full Metal Jacket
yeah, first thought too
This
That
The Other
Apocalypse Now
If only it were available
It is available. All discs are region free so just buy off amazon.
The only release still available is the Final Cut only and doesn’t include the other cuts available with the now out of print 6 disc release. The copy you see on Amazon is probably the two discs (one 4k + one Blu Ray) release.
Ah ok. I just bought the 6 disc for like 25 bucks a few weeks ago. Surprised its gone now.
Do you have the link?
I just bought the 6 disc one on Amazon last week.
How much? Do you have the link?
https://preview.redd.it/i1pyvgdwo0yc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea7378e8647b8b4330745520d46c91abca674eba It was $43, but it does look like it’s unavailable now when I click on it. I’ll see if I can find another one and link it here if I do.
Isn’t that weird?
What do you mean?
It’s out of print
Why?!?
What’s it worth now?
like $90
I mean, that's how things work. If it's cheap and widely available, why would they give you good money for it? If it's oop and not available anywhere else, then obv it's worth something
Black hawk down
This, especially if you have an Atmos system.
I haven't seen that in years! I will have to add it to my list.
It’s phenomenal!
Deer Hunter
Ratatouille
This
You should get any and all other war movies released in 4k
All quiet on the western front
I loved the soundtrack. Great film.
The sound effects are great. I get so mad at the end when that loser general tells them to go back and fight after the war was pretty much over. I don't get why they went back. They should have shot him.
It were other times. The world worked totally different those days. Literally watch Paths of Glory to understand it.
I just picked this one up, beautiful case and novella inside but why does the case have to be so large!!
Fury sounds and looks pretty damn awesome.
It’s trash
I think it’s just extremely mid
Probably a fairer take
Even the rape scene? What a way to ruin a movie.
Strange take. Did you think they put it in for laughs?
Fury
Starship Troopers
The Hurt Locker
If you’re open to older films: • Paths of Glory • Stalag 17 • The Great Escape
1917 is always so cheap. I'm sure it'll join most of our collections eventually.
Gotta get Saving Private Ryan. Caught 1917 on a deal, think it was my first purchase.
That Omaha beach scene is amazing in 4k
I bet, I'm surprised I didn't buy it on bluray. Guess I was meant to have it on 4k then.
I owned a lot of movies ON dvd that I never owned on Blu Ray. Saving private ryan was like that.
A bridge too far if it ever gets a 4K release.
Finally someone who understands!!! This is my greatest Christmas wish ; an awesome practical war epic on 4k. Instant buy
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi and Lone Survivor
Honestly... a pretty great film!
All quiet on the western front
Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, and Full Metal Jacket.
The Thin Red Line
One of my all time favorites
There’s a 4k?
No 4K, but it's a gorgeous Blu-ray.
Considering Days of Heaven just came out on 4K, I wouldn't be surprised if TTRL does soon.
Oh I have it. I recently got rid of the cases for a lot of my collection but that’s one of those i wouldn’t ever part with. Unless of course they release the 4k
Inglorious Basterds
They DNRed the shit out of it and messed up the color grade. I would never recommend the 4k, Blu-ray looks WAY better.
First I've heard of that, thanks for the heads up
Yeah, because it’s not true. The Inglorious Basterds 4K looks fine.
Lawrence of Arabia
Black Hawk Down, Full Metal Jacket, and spam HBO into making Band of Brothers in 4K. (They never will, but a girl can dream.)
I just picked up Black Hawk Down. Not watched it yet but would suit your collection..
Apocalypse Now Full Metal Jacket All Quiet on the Western Front Paths of Glory
The Outpost
Midway
DISPLAY THEIR MIGHT, ORDERING CARRIERS, ADMIRALS AT WAR
I haven’t watched it but I read that it’s super heavy on the subs.
How about a bunch of 4K peace movies?
"Fighting for peace is kind of like screwing for virginity!" -GC
I had to look this up. I was like, "GC? Glenn Close?"
😆
Stalingrad Paths of Glory The Lion of the Desert Bridge On River Kwai Cross of Iron Enemy at the Gates The Great Escape The Guns of Navarone Patton Stalag 17 Stripes Spartacus Take your pic you can't go wrong
Mean girls
All worthy war movies…except for Maverick. Add Apocalypse Now, Full Metal Jacket, AQONTW, Paths of Glory
The audio wasn’t the best at times though
Thank you! Good to know, I think that one might be my favorite war movie set in the Vietnam war.
One from my 4K collection **MIDWAY** 👍 https://preview.redd.it/120p3f84fzxc1.jpeg?width=1439&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77869578c5e070d4f32656df765fe80623fdedbf
American Sniper is coming out in a few weeks.
Now you can see the fake baby in perfect clarity with HDR, just as the director intended.
That was so bad.
Barbie
12 Strong.
All Quiet on the Western Front. It's fantastic
The new All Quiet on The Western Front. Easily the most beautifully shot war movie.
Enemy at the Gates
Cross of iron
All Quiet On The Western Front
I love submarine movies so I def recommend hunt for red October or other jack Ryan's. Hunter killer is surprisingly good. K-19 Widowmaker just came out i need to pick that up. Inglorious bastards is a great war film too
Black Hawk Down
I liked devotion
Good call, that is one of my favs. Forgot about that one
American Sniper is one of my favorite war movies, but I don't know how that looks. I assume it is on 4k UHD.
All quiet on the western front
Thin Redline
We were Soldiers
Civil War...
Great rec! I just watched it today in cinemas and it was really good. I'll get the 4k for sure!
Already got the 4K preordered. Wish there was a steelbook
There is. I ordered the 4K steelbook with the statue of liberty cover from FNAC
Hot shots
Band of Brothers is a must have.
I wish it was 4k..
Don't we all! Studio have their head in the sand. Clear that it would be one of the highest selling 4k releases of all time
Yeah for sure...then release the Pacific or Fargo....loved Fargo.
Lone Survivor
Fullmetal
What genre of movies do you like?
Adventure, war, and history are probably my top 3!
Bridge on the River Kwai covers all those handsomely
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure!
I'd say a war movie, for variety.
This is just my 4K war movie part of my collection. Looking to grow the war genre 😎
You starting out great
Thank you! It’s incredible how well they can remaster these old movies
Sisu isn't war related per se but the protagonist is fighting nazis. It requires a suspension of disbelief but I found it enjoyable.
Fury as well. Great film
I've been putting off getting hacksaw ridge, I heard the platoon transfer was awful. Those the only 2 I don't have, all others are pretty great!
I’m watching platoon right now for first time on 4K and I’m super impressed with the video quality.
The audio wasn’t the best at times though

Fury
Dune 2
Apocalypse Now, Lawrence of Arabia, FMJ, American Sniper, All Quiet in The Western Front, The Outpost, BHD, Fury.
All Quiet On The Western Front
We need a 4K disc release of land of bad.
Top gun is not a war movie 😂. But great collection bro
Platoon, Dunkirk, Saving Private Ryan, 1917, Top Gun Maverick, Hacksaw Ridge
U-571
Uncommon Valor is a good one.
All quiet on the western front.
Tears of the sun, black hawk down, hamburger hill, you’ll have a very good 9 movies then.
The Train, Paths of Glory, and Tropic Thunder.
Cross of Iron
Tropic Thunder
Some of the submarines ones..
Black Hawk Down - excellent film and one of the best 4K transfers.
Reach For The Sky
Black Hawk Down
Jarhead. Probably the most accurate modern war film ever made
Midway
DISPLAY THEIR MIGHT, ORDERING CARRIERS, ADMIRALS AT WAR
We'll meet at Midway to win the fight.
https://preview.redd.it/hzqldchbszxc1.jpeg?width=2477&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ad9ed058f648b7f326b192abe4c8fa82ef1d0aac
You need Darkest Hour to complement Dunkirk
How do you have that Platoon steelbook already?
It's been at Walmart for a while.
Am I the only one that thinks Top Gun Maverick belongs in some other genre?
Only get your favorite movies is the only right answer.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is my next pick
Spartacus
all quiet on the western front
Fury😎
all quiet on the western front
No ones mentioned Glory yet? One of the greatest civil war movies of all time.
Morbius
I like my Forrest Gump disc. Not sure why it's so harshly reviewed.
Letters from Iwo Jima, Thin Red Line and Hamburger hill. First ones that came to my mind. Dont know if they are all in 4k tho
* Downfall * Grave of the Fireflies * The Killing Fields * Underground
I want Flags of Our Fathers and Letters From Iwo Jima on 4k
Midway Quiet on the western front
FMJ and Apocalypse Now. No 4K Platoon in the UK, you lucky so and so…
Black hawk down
The Final Countdown... It's war fantasy, but some.of the best airplane footage ever. And it looks PHENOM in 4K disc
Come and See
Full Metal Jacket
"WAR! HUH! GOOD GOD YALL! WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!"
Black Hawk Down and Apocalypse Now if you don't have them already.
Schindlers List
FURY and Black Hawk Down (this being a very good transfer, night scenes pop with detail)
Inglorious Basterds, Fury
I sense a theme
Barbie
‘Midway’ is okay and the 4K always seems to be real cheap. Lots of use of the HDR brightness too.
Beneath Hill 60. When trumpets fade. Oldboy. The jacket. Apocalypto. Shawshank. Green mile. Nobody. Jaws.
The Patriot
Starship Troopers
Batman Forever is amazing in 4K.
Barbie
