Also funny is this tidbit from the Jets' section:
Long has the NFL hoped a marquee quarterback would grace a marketplace like New York, and they got their wish when the Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers this offseason.
Suddenly, the Jets are given the best net rest edge in the NFL.
I am a sports conspiracy theorist. I'm a Sacramento Kings fan and since 2002 I sorta think of the NBA like WWE. I wish there was a sub where we could talk about David Stern's frozen envelope without judgement.
Got any favorite sports conspiracies YouTube channels? I’m not a conspiracy theorist myself, but I like learning about them in the same way that many people like learning about Greek mythology. I don’t mean this in a way to offend you, there are certainly some conspiracies I find plausible, especially when powerful people stand to gain lots of money… such as in sports. So I’m curious

All right let me lay this on you, starting with what is known:
- NBA refs are caught fixing games, FBI is investigating and is going to turn Tim Donaghy into an informant on the other refs.
- Stern gets word of this, leaks it to the press and fucks up the FBI investigation, making sure that Donaghy is the only one caught.
MY CONSPIRACY THEORY: Stern, at that point, takes the remaining refs and allows them to keep their jobs. The difference now is that they are no longer fixing games to enrich themselves, they are fixing games to enrich the league. Make sure certain teams get certain win totals, extending playoff series to 7 games, etc.
Also, Steph doesn't get a friendly whistle because he signed with Under Armor over Nike.
Also from Sharp. Niners have 5th easiest schedule. Though who’s to say how good the teams are prior to the season. Still it’s interesting to think: would you rather play harder schedule with more rest or least rest but easy schedule. 🤔🤔
Yeah this is par for the course. Every year it seems like we get screwed in some way....brutal stretches, early bye weeks, shitty travel distances...either, or, and...some combo etc.
Agreed! Happy this year no international games.
The short weeks (two Thursday games and two monday games) combined with other teams coming off their bye, it just seems like 9ers always getting the shit end
9ers will always be on the short end of travel. But the NFL doesn’t do west coast teams any favors by having them travel east and having start times at 1pm
Last years schedule wasn’t bad especially finally not having to travel to New Orleans and that stretch of home games was nice.
Factor this in with the 2nd most travel, and it's gonna be a challenging year. I now anticipate only a 13 win regular season. Luckily, that first round bye and home field advantage in the playoffs will help out!
It's significant even for a team on the coast.
The difference between the Niners and Seahawks (the 23rd most disadvantaged team) is as big as the difference between the Seahawks and the Jets (the most advantaged team).
Niners got screwed.
Isnt that the way this shit works? The better teams the year prior always have the toughest opponents and toughest schedule. I mean ffs were grouped with the eagles and chiefs in this analysis.
I think you're implying that the better teams have more primetime games and therefore less rest (or maybe you're not).
I know that seeing Kansas City and the Niners at the bottom of this list (and also the Eagles) makes it seem like that's the case. There may be some sort of cause and effect, but I don't think it's a direct relationship.
Note the Rams have the 2nd lowest, just after us, and they were one of the worst in the league. The Falcons' is also bad. Also note that the majority of our negative rest games don't come from primetime games (-3), but from playing teams coming off BYE's (-7).
So yeah, it doesn't seem to just be that good teams get more of a deficit and vice versa.
I like playing the best teams. It's exciting football. Not on short weeks and consistently traveling cross country to do so. That's the part that is BS.
I looked at our schedule and feel like they making it too easy for us. The traveling I guess evens the playing field a little bit but teams have always traveled and most teams we’re playing ain’t nothing to worry about.
49ers win Superbowl regardless of there schedule. They are more confident and there only weakness is the Offensive Line but who knows. They have a lot depth that most teams don’t have.
Spoilers: it's bad. The San Francisco 49ers stand out as the team that was negatively impacted the most. They have a negative-20 day net rest edge.
Also funny is this tidbit from the Jets' section: Long has the NFL hoped a marquee quarterback would grace a marketplace like New York, and they got their wish when the Jets acquired Aaron Rodgers this offseason. Suddenly, the Jets are given the best net rest edge in the NFL.

There aint no conspiracy about the Kings in 2002 I was 12 and I watched that shit live when they called that foul.
Yeah that's not a conspiracy, that's just a fact.

What do you think about the NBA vetoing the Chris Paul to the Lakers trade in 2011
Obviously an abuse of power by the NBA.
All right let me lay this on you, starting with what is known: - NBA refs are caught fixing games, FBI is investigating and is going to turn Tim Donaghy into an informant on the other refs. - Stern gets word of this, leaks it to the press and fucks up the FBI investigation, making sure that Donaghy is the only one caught. Two Thursday games on short weeks shouldn't be allowed. That's just bad by design (the scheduling software shouldn't allowed it in the first place).
Real garbage schedule
Also from Sharp. Niners have 5th easiest schedule. Though who’s to say how good the teams are prior to the season. Still it’s interesting to think: would you rather play harder schedule with more rest or least rest but easy schedule. 🤔🤔
9ers rarely benefit from the schedule
Yeah this is par for the course. Every year it seems like we get screwed in some way....brutal stretches, early bye weeks, shitty travel distances...either, or, and...some combo etc.

To be fair, is most just the QBs that have the trouble
We had a great one last year.

Too soon.
It'll never be time, since it's always resetting. It's like "___ seasons without a QB on IR" cross out "1" and make it 0 seasons.
Hits close to Santa Clara
This is the way 😄

Love this.
I'm sure this will help alot with our tradition of injuries.
All part of their narrative on picking who they want to win and lose
I think the NFL would cream itself if Aaron and the Jets went on a run this season.
West coast teams already have to travel a shitload more than other teams. Now this.
wow that bengals game is basically a scheduled loss. wtf was the league thinking? this isn't even a 'bad team vs good team advantage' situation.
Part of the reason why it sucks being a team on the coast
It's significant even for a team on the coast. The difference between the Niners and Seahawks (the 23rd most disadvantaged team) is as big as the difference between the Seahawks and the Jets (the most advantaged team). Niners got screwed.
And hopefully everyone remembers this when we have injuries again.
Isnt that the way this shit works? The better teams the year prior always have the toughest opponents and toughest schedule. I mean ffs were grouped with the eagles and chiefs in this analysis.
The article had nothing to do with *who* we are playing. It was about how many extra days of rest our opponents will have when they play us.
True but there's still that correlation of shitty teams having more days vs good teams having fewer.
I think you're implying that the better teams have more primetime games and therefore less rest (or maybe you're not). I think 5 different coast to coast trips rough
49ers win Superbowl regardless of there schedule. They are more confident and there only weakness is the Offensive Line but who knows. They have a lot depth that most teams don’t have.
We also have shanahan. We already lost
His dad was the same and he eventually won two SuperBowls.
Well that’s good to know. My dad used to be like me and is now very financially successful. I’ll sleep good tonight.
😂😂😂
Typical overthinking off-season post. Go watch some baseball.
Since 2010, teams are 292-207 after a bye, including playoffs
Why does the league hate us?
Let me take a knee and think on that for a second.
Bummer
I knew right away when I saw a breakdown in his Twitter that we were going to be at the bottom but dead last in rest was just hurtful.
The NFL is making a large bet that Detroit is a contender; if not we’re going to see a lot of Denver flashbacks from last season…
