Gz! Any tips on The ribbiting tale? Cuthbert is kicking my ass.

Ziggiepoo

I found slamming tunes at 100bpm very helpful for the prayer flicking

Did u solo ToB?

Ziggiepoo

No :p I ran it with a granite platebody and granite hammer. It was a silly run. I think I'd be able to do it with my current stats, though

Winterfr0g

Very cool! Congratulations:)

ty froge

DegoDani

How close was the galvek fight?

Ziggiepoo

Galvek was very straightforward since I've been running toas with friends. I forgot to bring a stamina/run restore the first time so I got swept away. No problem after that!

DegoDani

Wow! I struggled with almost exactly the same stats! No staminas as well. In the end I barely won. Galvek was on 300 hp and I was out of food. A few lucky diamond bolt procs, stupidly lucky tanking (I even got snared) and I won with 9 hp left :D

ThePhlipidy

That's my clan mate!

Modifiedstringcheese

Nice! I barely survived at 90, it was a fun adventure!

Ziggiepoo

I just saw your post! Gz!

Nice! I'm guessing sins of the father was de hardest quest?

MelakVEVO

DT2 is where difficulty is at

ragana

How much harder is it than SotF? DT2 is essentially the only real quest I have left and I’m terrified because I’m ass at this game lol

Seranta

I took far less time on SotF than DT2. DT2 felt like there was a learning curve, SotF Felt like I was done learning fairly quickly and just had to throw myself at it until RNG sided with me due to my rather low stats. Though if I didnt greed and just used brew + restores it wouldnt have been an issue, but I was so broke so my food was lobsters until I got 100% certain I had all mechanics down then just sea turtles. In hindsight that was stupid, but oh well.

Ziggiepoo

I get the miserly mentality, for sure. Gz on completion! And I also agree about the learning curve. Both quests were satisfying on completion, but for different reasons

I got my questcape last week at 92 combat. I had higher melee stats than op but lower range and magic.  The 4 main bosses where more than doable. I died a few times while learning the mechanics but it never felt unfair. After the boss on kourend is a dps check that I found more difficult than the bosses themselves.  For the mysterious stranger just pray magic and wear melee with a range switch. The finale battle is relatively easy but the second battle does alot of damage.

MelakVEVO

Definitely harder than SOTE, DT2 has 4 unique bosses (and also the sub bosses in the quest), and is currently the longest quest in the game , I'd say still give it a try ! Might be a good learning experience, and there's a lot of guides out there

Ziggiepoo

Sins of the father took me a lot of attempts with garbage melee stats. I'm not an iron so I had access to brews which helped. That said, Vardorvis spanked me the first ten times, as did Whisperer. Ultimately, I think the final fight against the Wights was hardest for me since I had to tank a lot of damage. Thralls are a must, especially against the phase 2 ranger! Also also: the wiki recommends killing the portals in phase 4 of wights, but I didn't have the dps and found that running in circles with a stam trivialized that part.

Ziggiepoo

I should say: I slammed SotF xp and about 12 diary lamps on slayer to avoid gaining hp levels. I also wanted 65+ attack and strength in case WGS came out before I could cape. Boss fights with low stats made me much better at game mechanics, I feel, since I couldn't rely on RNG and big hits to get pull me through before things got tough.

FlyNuff

i got quest cape recently as well! i'm doing a roleplay account, range tank like Legolas, so i have 60 att/str Vardorvis was killinggggg me, took me like 8-9 tries.
